The label credits Clarence Palmer as the writer, but all he did was rework Lil Armstrong's "Brown Gal", which she wrote with Avon Long (Palmer also recorded "Brown Boy" as by The Jive Bombers, a couple of years later, again with his name on the writing credit). In '56 Clarence and his Jive Bombers again reworked it into "Bad Boy"...this time, it got credited to Lil Armstrong.
