As most respectable Power Trios, DEJA-VU has a clear influence of ELP but also some leanings towards Italian bands as Balletto di Bronzo and the Japanese Gerard. During the next three years they toured and recorded their own material gaining fame and international recognition, but it's not until 1988 when they were able to release "Baroque in Future" their only album.
"Baroque in Future" was recorded in 1998 but the Musea 1998 re-issue contains two bonus tracks recorded during a 1989 concert where they played with the French iconic band Atoll, almost immediately.
In 1988 Tetsuya Nagatsuma leaves the band and after a few moths of inactivity Tomoki Ueno and Ken Ishita join the band but during the recording sessions of a second album, DEJA-VU members split due to disagreements with the musical direction of the band..
In 1990 Motoi Sakuraba and his style clearly inspired in Keith Emerson and Eddie Jobson gain him a place in the excellent compilation album "King's Board" album that boost his prolific career as soloist and allows him to release his first album "Gikyokuonsou" in 1991.

Against All Odds
déjà vu Lyrics

Just let you leave without a trace?
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave?
'Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've got to face, oh
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
But to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
Take a good look at me now
'Cause I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And it's what I've got to face
Take a look at me now
The lyrics of "Against All Odds" by Deja Vu Feat. Tasmin reflects on the aftermath of a failed relationship. The singer is unable to let go of their former lover and is struggling with the pain of their separation. They cannot understand how their lover could just walk away from them and leave without a trace, especially since they were the only one who truly knew them. The singer reminisces about the moments they shared together, including laughter, pain, and tears.
The chorus of the song repeats the line "take a look at me now," and the singer reflects on the emptiness they feel now that their lover is gone. They express their desire for their lover to come back to them, but they know it is against the odds. Despite this, they are still standing and waiting for their former lover to return, even though it is painful and difficult.
