I think it's a little bit of both... The "influencers" weren't there in the douchey sense they are now, but there were there in a sense, making content and videos that had... Effort put into them. We're at a stage now where any idiot with a cellphone and a gimmick (or big boobs) can just selfie a video and make money... Hey science, hurry up with that time machine... PLEASE
