A new Swedish artist appeared on the music scene, we must be ready. Her name is Johanna Maria Jansson, but she will be known as Dotter. Currently without a record deal, but certainly not for long, she’s ready to conquer our senses with her music. She said:
I grew up in the nature and amongst the mountains, and I want to bring that feeling into the music. I wanted to somehow bring out the Nordic origin though the name, and at the same time express the importance of protecting and caring for the nature and our planet. Thus, the name also became a symbolism for the daughter of mother earth.
“My Flower” is the name of her debut single, written and produced by herself with the collaboration of Dino Medanhodzic. The track is confirmed as the first single taken from her upcoming debut EP “I Am Dotter“, scheduled to be released in November.
A soft but intense song, with a glorious instrumental harmony based on a good orchestration. She could be considered a decaffeinated version of Lana Del Rey mixed with Foxes. The single was exclusively premiered on Popjustice on September 24th.
The music video directed by Sheila Larsson was premiered on Wednesday October 8th.
