Secret
dylyn Lyrics

I got into the car and drove up somewhere far
I crashed through the door, oh-oh
I knew that she'd be there
My heart told me, I swear
Lost, can't help myself
I threw her to the floor
How the fuck could you ignore?
Her photos on the wall, oh
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
Daddy's got a secret, had it on the weekend
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Daddy's got a secret, now I know he's cheating
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Love him now? (Love him now?)
I hadn't slept in days, oh-oh
I knew she had to know
You wouldn't tell her though
I didn't have the words to say
She saw it in my eyes, she didn't even cry
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
How's mama gonna love you now?
Daddy's got a secret, had it on the weekend
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Daddy's got a secret, now I know he's cheating
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Love him now?
Hey, oh-no
She won't love you again, don't you know
But hey, you know
I'll still love you again even though
Daddy's got a secret, had it on the weekend
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Daddy's got a secret, now I know he's cheating
Mama, how you gonna love him now?
Love him now?
Love him now?
Love him now?
Love him now?
Love him now?
In the first verse of Dylyn's song 'Secret', the singer narrates the events of the aftermath of the discovery of a secret. As she wakes up in the dark and drives somewhere far, the listener can gather that the singer is on a mission of some sort. When she crashes through the door, she already knows that the person in question - possibly a lover - will be there. The emotions running through her heart are complex, and she admits to throwing the person in question to the floor, an action motivated by her hurt feelings. The singer also questions why someone would ignore her so much when they had taken the time to adorn their walls with her photographs.
The second verse speaks more to the source of the tension, where Dylyn explains that she had not slept in days leading up to the confrontation. She had to tell the person in question, but the words failed her. Luckily her companion seemed to read the expression on her face and understood the situation.
Throughout the chorus, Dylyn poses a question to the person's parents, specifically the mother, asking how she will love them despite the secrets they are hiding.
In the bridge, the singer opines that the person responsible for the secrets is unlikely to be loved now that they have lost the trust of their partner. However, the singer promises to love the person again, even if no one else does.
