Killer
february Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'll take the role
If you keep my secret safe

I'll take the role
If you tune into my frequency

I'll take the role
If you've fallen for my innocence
Fallen for my innocence
Fallen for my innocence

I'll take the role
If you can control the game
So I could go
Down to where nothing will be the same

I'll take it all
If you'll satisfy my interest
Satisfy my interest
and ready to tell

What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for a killer

Down on this road
There's no place for fairy tales
Perfect dependence
Is the only thing that sells

I'll take your role
if you're ready for my sympathy
ready for my sympathy
ready for my sympathy

I taught you how to save
While you taught killing
No wonder I excel you
Call us even

It's time I warned you
But you dared, dared
Why are you scared, scared
Of me now?

What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for
What it feels
What it feels like for a killer

Are you are you are you
Willing to die tonight?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Killer" by February clearly tell a story of manipulation, control, and an unspoken agreement between two people. The singer is promising to take on a certain role, only if the other person will keep their secret safe. The lyrics suggest that there is a power dynamic at play, and the singer is willing to play the game and take the role as long as they can control it. These lines also imply a sense of innocence that the singer may be using to their advantage, and the other person has fallen for their charm.

As the lyrics continue, the singer talks about making the other person satisfied and ready to tell what it feels like to be a killer. This implies that the secret being kept is related to something nefarious or criminal that the singer may be involved in. The second verse also suggests that the singer may have taught the other person how to save but in return, they taught them how to kill. The line "Call us even" implies that the singer believes they are on equal footing with the other person, but it is not clear what exactly has transpired between them.

The chorus repeats the phrase "What it feels like for a killer" several times, almost like an inner monologue of the singer. The lyrics also suggest that there is no place for fairy tales on this road, further emphasizing the harsh reality of the situation. The final line asking if the other person is willing to die tonight is a chilling one and implies that the stakes are very high.

Overall, the lyrics of "Killer" paint a complex picture of two people involved in a twisted power dynamic with secrets and manipulation at play. The lyrics also suggest that there is an element of danger, which further adds to the intrigue of the song.

l love "Foul Play February", Brooke!
It's a great idea to distract us during lockdowns and generally these horrible times we're going through worldwide right now.

& Yes, I also think he has creepy vibes - but with the benefit of hindsight this is so easy to say now - to me he looks a lot like the Green River serial killer Gary Ridgeway on the picture at 22:57; they really could be brothers.
Isn't it super-strange, that he'd buried one of his victims in front of his window*, while he had a long great relationship and friendship with another sex worker ... this made me wonder, if he had severe anger issues when he couldn't perform, based on the story of the surviving victim.

Maybe he needed the intimacy of a longer relationship, to be intimate with a woman; this doesn't justify murder at all though!
He didn't realize, all of his victims did that job to pay their bills, raise their kids and survive - as someone living in Austria/Europe with sex work being completely legal here, I feel very bad for sex workers getting punished in other countries - and I've been wondering, if the other sex workers/surviving victims are generally getting punished, when they're getting involuntarily involved into one of these serial killer and/or sex work related murder cases, after they'd gotten targeted as victims?

* I think he buried her there, to have leverage in court - just in case he'd get caught one day - bc this wasn't his usual m.o. at all.

Oh my goodness, you guys I have no idea why there is a Pokemon figure among the victims in the billboard picture at 4:33. I'm so sorry I didn't see that prior. It was the only photo I could find of the billboard and I'm not sure who would do that on purpose but I just want you guys to know it wasn't me and I mean no disrespect at all!!!

I love how respectful you are about the women even though they were sex workers. I myself used to be a former sex worker and we get demonized or looked as less than human usually thanks for treating them like normal victims

@BrookeMakenna

awe, I wish everyone would see sex workers as the humans they are. You all deserve it <3

@yuki97kira

The real demons are those people. Humanity and kindness makes one humans, not jobs, and titles. I hope its all good for you

@leahflower9924

I love how they get demonized especially if they have mental or drug problems but then society doesn't demonize the mostly MEN taking advantage of the fact these women have these problems
