The lights are always on in the street
I cannot sleep because of the constant artificial light around me.

So I never sleep
As a result of the artificial light, I stay up throughout the night.

My dreams have turned to plastic and they rattle in my head
I can only dream of fake things that have no real meaning or impact on my life.

And now there's concrete in the yard
Despite nature's beauty, the world is being destroyed by man-made structures.

Where the sunflowers used to be
The pure beauty of nature is being disturbed by urbanization.

I thought I heard your voice but it was only the TV
In modern society, it is common to mistake reality for the things projected on screens.

I think I'll waste away here
I feel hopeless and helpless in this bleak environment.

My suffering will only increase until I am no longer able to survive.

If the world hasn't killed me yet, well, it's just a matter of days
The world is so harmful to me that I will perish soon enough.

The poison ate our lungs up
Pollution is slowly killing us.

If I could, I would get on a spaceship and spend my last days on the moon
The only answer is to escape Earth and all its problems.

They say they're building us a garden
Society offers false promises of a better life.

So when the birds and trees are all gone
Nature is being destroyed to create infrastructure.

We'll live where the sky is golden
We will be in a world of artificial beauty.

Bathe in artificial oceans
Using unnatural variations of natural elements is becoming more common in society.

But if they couldn't tap the marrow
If humans were no longer able to destroy and exploit the planet's natural resources...

Every river, every sparrow
...then every natural thing would survive and thrive.

Laying dead inside their cages
Animals suffer too at the hands of humans.

Without their songs they have been wasted
Animals lose their essence and purpose when they are separated from their natural environment.

They say someday we'll find the answer
There is hope that one day we will figure out how to coexist with nature.

We'll be climbing up that ladder
As a society, we are making progress towards that goal.

While they burn up in the atmosphere we'll be okay cause
As others continue to harm the environment, we are taking steps towards a better future.

We'll all live in the garden
We hope to reach a utopian society where humans thrive in harmony with nature.

I want to build a wall around you
I want to protect someone from the harmful world.

And say that I'm the one who found you
I want to take credit for discovering someone's innate beauty and goodness.

But despite all of my virtue
Despite trying to do good, I have faults and shortcomings.

I know that I'm the one who hurts you
I am aware that my actions can potentially harm someone close to me.

Well, don't you know they lie, dear?
You cannot trust everything that society, the media, or even other people say.

There is no better place to find here
The world as it is currently constructed is imperfect and flawed.

They packed up their things and left you
Society has failed some individuals.

And I don't think I can protect you
I cannot shield someone from all the bad things in society.

I think that I have found the answer
Despite how hopeless things may seem, I have found a solution.
