Hayko Cepkin is a Turkish singer and musician. He was born in 1978 in Istanbul, Turkey. The foundation of his musical career began after high school with his 2 year musical education at the Mimar Sinan University which was then followed by 2 years at the Timur Selçuk school of music. All was set into place after he studied another year of piano at Akademi Istanbul.
In 1997 he started off his professional career as a keyboardist for some of the biggest names in the Turkish alternative music scene. Names such as Ogün Sanlisoy, Aylin Aslim, Koray Candemir and Demir Demirkan are only some of them.
In 2005, his (home recorded) debut album ‘Sakin Olmam Lazım’ was released by EMI Recording in Turkey. The album has hints of classic Turkish blends and the raw angst present in rock. The angst which literally swallows you up while watching Hayko Cepkin live is much more evident on his second album released in May of 2007.
The second album ‘Tanışma Bitti’ tells you just about everything you need to know about Hayko Cepkin.

Bir sen nur oldun
Bir tek sen varsın
Bil, sen çok oldun
Suratın iğrenç
Kimlerden, söyle, yüz buldun?
Vücudun kireç
Suratın iğrenç
Kimlerden, söyle, yüz buldun?
Vücudun kireç
Söyle, böyle mi pak oldun?
Bir sen var oldun
Bir sen nur oldun
Bir tek sen varsın
Bil, sen çok oldun
Suratın iğrenç
Kimlerden, söyle, yüz buldun?
Vücudun kireç
Söyle, böyle mi pak oldun?
Suratın iğ-, su-, iğ-, su-, iğ-
Bak bu yürek
İğrenç, iğrenç, iğrenç
Bak bu yürek
İğrenç, iğrenç, iğrenç
Bak bu yürek
İğrenç, iğrençsin
Bak bu yürek
İğrenç, iğrençsin
Whoa, let′s forget
All to pieces, for all to pieces
For all to pieces, these fuckers
To y'all the princess
To y′all, y'all princess, pieces
All to pieces, let's forget
Roll a digitip, roll
The song "Kaos" by Hayko Çepkin conveys various emotions and feelings of intensity. The lyrics describe one person who stands out from others and shines brightly. The phrases "Bir sen var oldun" and "Bir sen nur oldun" reveal that the person being sung about is unique and special. They are the only one of their kind and radiate pure light. The repetition of "Bir tek sen varsın" emphasizes the point that this individual is one of a kind and irreplaceable. The chorus continues on to say "Bil, sen çok oldun," which can be interpreted as "know that you are abundant" or "you are much more than what others see."
The next set of lyrics, "Suratın iğrenç, kimlerden, söyle, yüz buldun?" and "Vücudun kireç, söyle, böyle mi pak oldun?" describe how the person's physical appearance may not be conventionally attractive. However, the lyrics question where they received their physical traits from and if they were able to become "pak" or purified despite their appearance. The repetition of "Suratın iğrenç" and "Vücudun kireç" could be interpreted as society trying to crush the individual's confidence by criticizing their appearance.
The final section of the song, "Bak bu yürek, iğrenç, iğrenç, iğrenç" repeats the phrase "iğrenç" or hideous, in reference to the heart. This verse may suggest that society also judges people by their inner qualities, but the person being sung about can "roll a digitip" or move on from these negative opinions and ignore the hate.
