What If
i.o.x. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

VERSE 1
Too far away, for me to reach So beautiful, you cannot see So obvious, but hard to find A gift to me, all by design

Bridge 1
What if I pretend the world is mine
What if I pretend I’m right this time
What if I intend to go this way
What if there’s a chance to make you stay

VERSE 2
Too many words, the book’s a lie The oldest soul, too young to die A story told, without a name
If no one lives, to win the game

Bridge 2
But what if I pretend the world is mine What if I pretend I’m right this time

What if I intend to go this way
What if there’s a chance to make you stay

Overall Meaning

In i.o.x.'s song "What If," the singer is expressing a desire for someone who is out of reach. The person being sung about is described as something beautiful but someone who cannot see their own beauty. The singer feels it is obvious that they should be together, but it's hard to make it happen. It's almost as if fate has brought them together as a gift, but there are many obstacles in the way.

In the first verse, the lyrics suggest distance, beauty, and difficulty in finding the right words or actions to bring the couple together. The bridge of the song appears to be a message of hope — what if things were different? What if the world was different, and they could be together? What if the singer was able to convince the person to stay, even if it seems impossible?

The second verse digs deeper into the mystery of the couple's relationship; it's as if the "book" of their lives is incomplete without one another. The bridge is repeated with a slightly different inflection, but still holds the same message of hope.

Overall, "What If" is a song about the yearning for a relationship that is out of reach, but holding onto the hope that it is still possible.

Good to see people like me. I was on ios 8.4 on my ipad till 2020. I still think that updates slow down the device. But if you don’t update, there comes a time when nothing works. Thats when I updated the ipad. It became slow but useable. I miss the smooth ios8.4.
On my iphone I am a year behind the world. I am currently running 15.7 and had 14.3 for one year when everyone was on ios 15. However, I have found a strange thing. People who have update have better battery capacity then my iPhone. May be there usage is moderate.

I finally had to get a new phone. My 6s worked fine, but the charging port was worn out from being plugged in thousands of times and all the charging cables fit loose and would only charge of the cord was in just the right position. Also the replacement battery installed by apple was to the point where it would drop about 1% every minute while using the phone, unless it was plugged in.
