There’s such a mature level of thought in this song.
RM’s verse: After all our hard work we reached our goal… but it wasn’t as life giving and fulfilling as we thought it would be.
J-Hope: Now we’re just confused about whether we even reached it at all, even as we try and look on the bright side.
Suga’s verse: It’s not that we ‘arrived’ at our goal, but we created it with our blood, sweat and tears. But that means that if we stop working, it will all go away again.
RM: Maybe no one ever ‘arrives’ and it’s all part of the same journey of life.

and then the vocal line passing the chorus line between them, like they’re all in agreement: ‘if we didn’t hope for something we wouldn’t experience suffering over it. But the hard things we go through are also a sign that we are still hopeful, still trying.’
V’s outro: but it has been hard, so we should take a moment to acknowledge it before we move on to what comes next.

For them to record that together, at the point where they’d finally started to achieve real fame, is really wise and introspective. It’s relevant to so many situations in life. No wonder it’s such a meaningful song to people.

And for it to end up in the album too, that BigHit let them give that commentary on their feelings publicly … It always impresses me.

it's been so long since I've heard this song.

I'm about to plunge into adulthood, and it's horrifying, how fast everything is going. I feel as though I'm being left behind, trying so hard to preserve my innocent childlike interests and my happiness.

And this song finds me. In the midst of all my pain and struggles. This song is kind of like a reminder for me; to take my time. To take things slow. To find myself amidst the noisy world.

i parted ways with bts a long time ago.. simply because they introduced me to a new world and culture of artists and because both bts, and myself, grew up in our own ways. but i will always, i repeat, always come back to this song because it holds such a special place in my heart. nothing but respect and gratefulness for bts and the impact they have made on my life. from finding out my passions and who my true friends are, bts were somehow always in that story.

i am now 20 and onto a new journey of my life. i discovered bts when i was 12. it's been a long time. and i will always have them in my heart because i spent my adolescent years with them. now, as an adult, i listen to this song, i think back to all the memories and joy these boys give me. i long for those years of youth, but i am proud and satisfied with who i've become today.

Honestly after they decided to take a break as a group. I felt like I parted ways with BTS as a whole as well. I discovered BTS during Persona era which was 2019. It was 3 years ago almost 4. I fell in love with their music, passion talent etc. I was 20 by then. Now I’m 24 and I think I really learned to appreciate and respect them so much over the course of their career. Even though now I don’t always focus on BTS all the time unlike back then, they will always have a place in my heart !! Their music will live forever ~~

I have celebrated a year since my last failed attempt. 10/15/21 to be exact. I also became army 10/15/21. That same night I was about to, my friend asked me to come over. They asked me if I ever heard BTS. I went from being determined to spending hours till around 3am listening to their music, runs, and compilations. It was my first time I laughed so hard. I was grasping at straws. I was trying so hard. And the fact that their message is to love oneself. They really helped me out of the hole and they will never know just how much I appreciate them.

Joined ARMY in the same month (07/23) and I discovered this song through music hive! I avoided it up until today since downloading the game 2-3 weeks ago and I think I bit the bullet when I needed it most. The past 3 years haven’t been the greatest for me mentally/socially and last month was truly the icing on the cake of my hell, but these past few months, these boys have been saving me❤️ I cannot wait to see them come back in full swing in 2025 and I’m hoping to be up there in the front row come next tour! I first heard this song in 2017 when I first became army but didn't really feel so much for it because I was much younger. Now, 6 years later, this song is what comforts me when I feel like I'm going down a spiral of unhappiness. I felt such overwhelming emotions listening to 'Sea' that I don't know how to describe it. Right now, I feel like I'm just stuck while everyone else is moving ahead. Back in 2017-2018 I felt that way too, sometimes I still do, it’s certainly tough but what you’ve got to remember is everyone is on a different path. I’m only 23 and I still work part-time and at university, while others are exploring the world, getting married, getting better jobs. But, we are here, on this planet, together. Time is only just that, time. Spending your time worrying and getting upset about it is fine, but give yourself time to be true to you, sit down and read a book, or listen to music by yourself. Not being on your phone, spend a least an hour off the phone, I only say that because that’s where we compare ourselves.

You’ve got it in you to be you, and BTS are an outlet for your emotions. They’re showing you that they’ve felt their hardships but you’ve got to work through it to make you get unstuck. You’ve found this song when you needed it most, come back every once in a while until slowly you find yourself listening to it for the memories, recognising your hardships and how you’ve come out of that.

You may outgrow them and that’s okay, don’t feel guilty. For example, my dad loves Queen, and would listen all the time, but as he grew older he wasn’t constantly listening to it, but when I play a song of theirs he picks out memories, sings their song and feels the love that he had/has for Queen. Just because you stop keeping up to date doesn’t mean you’ve outgrown them, you’re just focusing on yourself ❤️

Was searching for soothing sea sounds , and this song popped up...Literally has me in tears right now,life is so hard..But you get up every morning hoping for it to get better,you never give up ,fighting to reach that dream or place where you can finaly be at peace...

This song was my coping mechanism when I was struggling with depression and suicide attempts. This was the song to help me cry and make me feel comforted. I am recovering already from all my trauma's and my depression and I won't forget this song because it has a place in my heart and thank u to BTS for saving me and helping me. I always come back to this song when I’m having a hard time and it always and I mean always never fails to make me cry which is such a hard thing for me too because I feel really uncomfortable crying and tend to hold things in and i will always say this is my comfort song for many reasons but i’m so glad this song is a hidden track bc when i really feel like i have to much going on i can just listen to this song and release everything and move on i will always be grateful that they made this song

I found this song when i really needed it her the most, "i guess fate guide this song to me at the perfect time", even though I've known BTS and I'm an ARMY since 2016, but it was meant for me to find this song right now at this moment in this specific year, it took me so long but eventually I found her when I really needed it her the most and now I understand the feeling that I have felt cause I'm an adult now and I know what it feels like specially with what I've been through in my life, and my first reaction hearing the song was crying, i couldn't stop myself from crying, i felt a lot of things, emotions, feelings, memories at the same time some of them beautiful and some of them sad, this song is like an escape to me now and this song is one of the masterpieces songs that they have I'm so happy right now cause I've found myself and that i love myself more than ever thanks to them, and I'm so lucky that I've been a fan of them since 2016, and that I've found them at that age
So to every army listen to this MASTERPIECE for the first time I'm so happy for you don't be hard on your self form now on and always love yourself, be confident about yourself, and speak yourself, don't wait for anyone to do that to you, and remember "People come and go but the right one stays", always think about yourself first there is nothing wrong with that, cause not everyone is like you, and don't expect a lot from humans in order to avoid blaming yourself

The melody..is just so fragile in a way.. it loops the whole song so delicately as much as Cautiously if I dare say so.
And the Adlibs of the vocal line are soo vulnerable. Tugs your heart. Vocals are just soo RAW with emotions here like I haven't heard in ANY other song from them.💜

Here.. after hearing about their enlistments and remembering how BTS saved my life with their songs. I know two years will go by fast.. I know 2025 will be here before we know it but it still stings. For many of us, BTS has always been a safe haven.. somewhere and someone to lean on to always remind us that no matter the hardships we faced, all they truly ever wanted was for us to love ourselves. you’re right, this is a great overview and lyrical representation to new armys of what they had to go through during their rough debut days and what they think of it now as the most successful kpop group in the world. all of that yet the song is not only talking about themselves, also anyone who is going through hardship as a sign that things will get better overtime if you work with your all, like a “trust us, we’ve been there,” type of thing. truly is able to help fans appreciate so much more of what bts has and will offer.

Its been a year since i am in love with bts. There music, hardwork,dance everything about them are very mesmerizing i suddenly stumbled in this song so i just thought of listening this song. But the first 5 sec had me in tears. Idk why i felt like i was trying to act happy and act like i had no worries at all. When this album came out I was only 12/13 and I had just become an Army. It was my first introduction to k-pop. Now 6 years later I just bought the physical version of this album and had never heard this song before and immediately fell in love with it. I feel privileged that i got to be an army at that time and experience this, they really saved me in so many ways, going back to these songs gives me mixed emotions mostly hurt and nostalgia.

I had a huge emotional connection to them and even tho i might forget it a lot but these songs (especially sea) will always bring back it back 10x stronger.

Here i am turning 20 in a few months when I thought i'd never make to 18 I'll always be thankful to them they were the friends and family i never had.

Exactly. They have so many songs of different genres that I literally don't need to listen to other artists to find songs that fit my mood. Including solo works, they have like more than 400 songs. Most of the time I'm either listening to them, their solo stuff or some hiphop.
