Jelani is currently recording his debut album, set to be released Q1 2020.

Can't wait a century
Tongue tied unevenly
Simply yours, mindlessly
Heaven fell down on me
Deadly spell rain on me
Down
Down
Once I get you close, I won′t let go
Hearts don't break, they all just turn to stone
Deep inside your garden, lost myself, I lost control
I don't want nobody ′cause I bit the fruit, I won′t let go
Sinking in my seat, I'd watch all gravity retreat
Voices whispering, and tell me no more insecurity
Phone stuck in my side, it feels so good to let it be
No regrets to dream about, just fall right down on me
Down
Down
Once I get you close, I won′t let go
Hearts don't break, they all just turn to stone
Deep inside your garden, lost myself, I lost control
I don′t want nobody 'cause I bit the fruit, I won′t let go
Once I get you close, I won't let go
Hearts don't break, they all just turn to stone
Deep inside your garden, lost myself, I lost control
I don′t want nobody ′cause I bit the fruit, I won't let go
The song "The Garden" by Jelani Aryeh is a haunting ballad about a relationship that is all-consuming and addicting. The song begins with the singer asking his lover not to "hide the night" from him and expressing impatient longing with the lines "Can't wait a century/Tongue tied unevenly/Simply yours, mindlessly." This is followed by a vivid image of the "heaven" that fell on him and the "deadly spell" that rains down on him. These lyrics seem to suggest a passion that is both powerful and dangerous.
The chorus of the song is a repetition of the lines "Once I get you close, I won't let go/Hearts don't break, they all just turn to stone/Deep inside your garden, lost myself, I lost control/I don't want nobody 'cause I bit the fruit, I won't let go." These lyrics are full of biblical allusions: "hearts turning to stone" and "biting the fruit" both evoke the Garden of Eden story from Genesis. The singer seems to be suggesting that he has already succumbed to temptation and is now trapped in a dangerously seductive relationship.
The rest of the lyrics continue with this theme of losing control: the singer feels like he is sinking and losing gravity, and he refers to the relationship as a "garden" that he has lost himself in. The phone stuck in his side is a metaphor for something that he cannot let go of, even though it feels good to do so. The overall effect is a sense of obsession and desperation that is both beautiful and unsettling.
