Monkey Business
kors k Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm aware of a big disgrace
Hoping that I'm not to late
Gossip has it, rumour says
Politics were not that mad

No one sees the liar
Any nation needs a fool
Most of us don't like it
What the finest ass hole do

Hey, it's crazy what you say
Do you think we would achieve?
Rubbish told in many ways
We should better not believe

Don't you hear the laughter
So ridiculous to see
Most of us ignore it
What the finest ass will do

Say, is it real
Is it really true
That you do, that you say it's no
Jiggery Pokery, no madness
I say, it is real
It is really true

What you do what you say to all
Let us call it

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of kors k's song Monkey Business are quite cryptic and open to interpretation. The song seems to be addressing political corruption and dishonesty. The opening lines, "I'm aware of a big disgrace, hoping that I'm not too late," suggest that the singer has discovered something troubling and wants to take action before it's too late. The next line, "Gossip has it, rumor says, politics were not that mad," seems to imply that there is some sort of scandal involving politics that people are talking about, but it may not be as crazy or unexpected as it initially appears.

The next verse continues to comment on the nature of dishonesty in politics, with lines like "No one sees the liar, any nation needs a fool" and "Most of us don't like it, what the finest asshole do." The song seems to be suggesting that politicians often get away with lying and that there is some sort of societal acceptance or expectation of this behavior.

The chorus of the song addresses the idea that we should be skeptical of what we hear and not blindly believe everything that is said. It suggests that there are many ways to spin a story and that we should be careful not to fall for false information or deceit. The line "Don't you hear the laughter, so ridiculous to see, most of us ignore it, what the finest ass will do" seems to suggest that politicians often get away with corruption because people either don't notice or choose to ignore it.

Overall, kors k's Monkey Business seems to be a commentary on political corruption and dishonesty. It encourages listeners to be skeptical of the information they receive and to question the motives of those in power.

I'm not sure if it's a stylistic change to shift into the next song on the album, but it is a little disappointing. It gives the impression that a big finale reprisal is coming... but it isn't.
