In 2007, Tablo of Epik High and Korea's leading hip-hop master Pe2ny who produced all of Epik High's albums formed a project group called Eternal Morning and released Soundtrack To A Lost Film, an instrumental album which sold more than 10,000 copies (an unprecedented record for an album of its kind). This time, Pe2ny crafts major buzz in the industry by presenting Alive Soul Cuts, the first hip-hop compilation album since the release of 2001 Dae Han Min Gook Hiphop Flex which featured the debut work of Big Bang's G-Dragon.

Bringing back the soul sounds of the 70s and 80s, Alive Soul Cuts features an impressive lineup of hip-hop talents including Epik High's Tablo and Mithra Jin, Nuksupshan, indie hip-hop guru Kebee, The Quiett, Rhyme-A-, Rimshot, Yankie of TBNY, and Double K. Also joining the list are Leo, MYK, Kika Flow, Korean-American musician Kero One, and NassuN, best known for his rap featured in 이효리's 2008 summer smash U-Go-Girl.
