The Christmas Waltz
peter knight and his orchestra Lyrics
Frosted window panes, candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree
Santa's on his way, he's filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and for me
It's that time of year when the world falls in love
Ev'ry song you hear seems to say
"Merry Christmas, may your New Year dreams come true"
And this song of mine in three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours the same thing, too
(Merry Christmas)
(It's that time of year when the world falls in love)
(Ev'ry song you hear seems to say)
"Merry Christmas, may your New Year dreams come true"
And this song of mine in three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours the same thing, too
There's this song of mine in three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours the same thing, too
Painted candy canes on the tree

I tend not to be a fan of Tin Pan Alley/Nashville/Hollywood/Broadway "Christmas" carols that aren't about Christmas at all -- rather they are about "feeling good" and don't we wish we could feel better when the weather's nicer -- but if you're stuck with a Hollywood carol, it might as well be sung well -- and the King's Singers certainly fill the bill.
