Remmi released her debut single "Capable" in 2014 and followed it with a string of tracks that included "Star Spangled" and "Awake, Asleep," all of which appeared on the 2015 EP New America. Later, Remmi collaborated with producers and artists such as Lucian, appearing on the title track of his 2016 EP Forever, and NVDES, lending her vocals to their 2017 single "Do Your Thing." She returned on her own in early 2018 with the politically charged single "Minimum Wage."
Even in the increasingly cluttered landscape of today's musical culture, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter/producer is arriving with a fresh, genre-smashing style that's damn near unclassifiable. Wry, socially conscious, and possessing a knack for crafting the perfect party-starting melody, Remmi is a bold new voice in pop that you're going to want to hear more from in the future: from co-writes with artists like R3HAB, KSHMR, Maty Noyes, Black Coast, and Mokita to her wave-making collaboration with Los Angeles electro-pop project NVDES, "Do Your Thing," which was recently featured in a global campaign for the iPhone X.
Remmi's forthcoming EP showcases a jubilant, exploratory creative mind unafraid to tackle a variety of moods, from ecstaticness to romantic contemplation and social awareness. Her passion is all the more impressive when considering the personal struggles she's faced in recent years, from coming out to her family to the recent, tragic death of her younger brother.
"There's a lot of joy in my music—that's my personality, and who I became after I came out," she explains on maintaining a positive outlook in the face of hardship. "Creating is a way for me to have happiness and things to celebrate—to use my imagination and see the world in a way that makes me want to live in it." And with Remmi's music in it, the world might actually become a better place.

Give me that fire, fire
Pass the lighter, lighter
Give me that fire, fire
Being alive is some bullshit
You think by now we'd be used to this
If you're Christian or Jewish
Don't matter cuz being alive is some bullshit
So I make jokes and I smoke weed
I have fun to make some meaning out of it
Make some meaning out of it
I'm not dumb and I'm not deep
I'm just trying to make some meaning out of it
Make some meaning out of it
Pass the lighter, lighter
Give me that fire, fire
Pass the lighter, lighter
Give me that fire, fire
I bet there's life on other planets
and they're gonna leave us here stranded
I'm not gonna freak
I'm not gonna panic
I'll just get stoned and laugh at it
So I make jokes and I smoke weed
I have fun to make some meaning out of it
Make some meaning out of it
I'm not dumb and I'm not deep
I'm just trying to make some meaning out of it
Make some meaning out of it
(pass me that)
Pass the lighter, lighter
Give me that fire, fire
Pass the lighter, lighter
Give me that fire, fire
The lyrics of remmi's song "Loop" touch on themes of existentialism, the struggle of being alive, finding meaning in life, and the potential existence of extraterrestrial life.
The repetition of "Pass the lighter, lighter" and "Give me that fire, fire" can be seen as a metaphorical request for something to ignite and spark passion or excitement in life. It may imply the desire to escape the mundane and find something that brings warmth and intensity to existence.
The opening lines, "Being alive is some bullshit, You think by now we'd be used to this," express a sense of frustration with the difficulties and challenges that come with living. The lyrics suggest that regardless of one's religious beliefs or background, the experience of being alive can often feel overwhelming or unsatisfying.
The chorus, "So I make jokes and I smoke weed, I have fun to make some meaning out of it, Make some meaning out of it," reflects a coping mechanism or strategy to find meaning in life through humor and recreational activities. It suggests that the artist acknowledges the absurdity of life but chooses to find enjoyment and purpose by creating laughter and indulging in pleasures.
The second verse touches on the idea of extraterrestrial life, suggesting that there might be other beings in the universe who might leave humans stranded on Earth. However, instead of dwelling on fear or panic, the artist chooses to approach the situation with humor and by getting high, symbolizing a way to detach and find solace in laughter.
In summary, the lyrics of "Loop" convey a sense of disillusionment with life while emphasizing the importance of finding meaning and joy even in the face of adversity. The song suggests that humor, recreational activities, and acceptance of the absurdity of existence are ways to navigate through the struggles and uncertainties of life.
