Music in the Village

In the Village I found my sound.
Badu taught me most I know of,
Like Dilla did, like Glasper did, like Daddy did.
Meet me up up-town tonight,
We're jamming until the sun comes out.
First round will be on the house,
Cause I met the guy,
Bitch you're late
I guess you missed my plane.
Now I'm miles away,
I filled your space.
My kick is so late,
That you can feel me grooving.
In between beats I lay,
I fill the space.
Music in the Village got me like,
I need to fly away, I need to find my own way to the music.
No one told me not to be using my own hands
To create the grooves I've been dreaming of.
Girl I've been tripping of you,
Take your dress off and let me touch what I've been dreaming of.
Like a kid dreams of an ice cream shop,
I dream of white sand beach and my music pops.
Bitch you're late
I guess you missed my plane.
Now I'm miles away,
I filled your space.
My kick is so late,
That you can feel me grooving.
In between beats I lay,
I fill the space.
Pop into my open top, listening to hip-hop non stop,
Peeps watching us like kids look at ice-cream shops.
Don't mistake C for B#.
Like Miles playing bebop when it's pre-pop,
I put the music in the Village at the top
Of my list, top of my trips, top of my chicks.
Bitch you're late
I guess you missed my plane.
Now I'm miles away,
I filled your space.
My kick is so late,
That you can feel me grooving.
In between beats I lay,
I fill the space.
The RMZ song "Music in the Village" is a reflection on the power of music and the influence that it can have on an individual. The opening lyrics suggest a sense of contentment and comfort that the singer has found in the Village, where they have discovered their own unique sound thanks to the guidance of influential musicians like Badu, Dilla, Glasper, and Daddy. The song then moves into an invitation to meet up and jam until sunrise, with the first round on the house thanks to a friend with keys to an open bar.
However, the song takes a turn with the introduction of a female character who is "late" and has seemingly missed the singer's plane. The shift in tone suggests frustration and disappointment with this person, and the lyrics become more introspective. The singer delves into the creative process and the feeling of being completely absorbed in music, with lines like "My kick is so late, That you can feel me grooving. In between beats I lay, I fill the space." The mention of "white sand beach" and "my music pops" suggest a desire to escape and create without limitations or distractions.
Overall, "Music in the Village" is an exploration of the power of music to bring people together, inspire creativity, and provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. The frustration and disappointment with the late arrival of the female character suggest that this is not just any activity or hobby for the singer, but something deeply important and personal.

A friend recommended this song to me. I’m so thankful for them. I was talking about it and one of them said that it sounds like their skating along the beach on a long board. God I can just imagine the breeze. I thought it sounded like I was walking downtown with friends at midnight, talking and laughing. I miss my friends. If your reading this Anddy, Mag Pampa, any of you guys, just know I miss ya.
