Formed in January 2006, Rochester brings together elements from various genres, experiences, and influences like Blink 182, Relient K, Saves The Day, and Third Eye Blind. Spending early 2006 recording their first EP at Black Lodge Studio (The Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack, The Spill Canvas), the group found their musical niche, forming a sound for fans of Mayday Parade, Sherwood, and Taking Back Sunday.
After making a name for themselves locally and across the world via 180,000 myspace plays, Rochester followed the old phrase of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” by heading back to the engineering care of David Chutka (Brandtson, Motion City Soundtrack) at Black Lodge in June 2007. “The Morning Gale EP” takes listeners on a musical journey following the work’s namesake, showing that perseverance through hard times is not only possible, but is needed to appreciate the moments in life worth sharing with others.
Rochester has found stability and direction through sound and member changes, with their line up of Joshua Koterba (vocals and guitars), Phil Collison (drums), Tristan Costanzo (bass and vocals), and Drew Shuck (guitars). Following a journey all of their own, Rochester has stepped up through tribulations to share encouragement with their friends, peers, and fans alike with their latest effort. But this journey is far from over, and others are welcome to join the trip by taking off into flight with “The Morning Gale EP” on its November 17 release.

God makes his own plan
This land like quicksand
Which man can withstand
He ran but you swam
Grab the first branch
Pulled yourself out
Got strong as time passed
Ran out
You flipped the hourglass
Its all
Comes around
Your future, his past
This Life
Ain′t a circle Its a octagon
Get boxed
In a corner if you cant move on
Pray for
Your atonement
Live for the moment
Makes sense dont it
Now make dollars I was
Looking for balance thinking how i gon manage
Son on way and a daughter with brain damage but her
Disability started Strengthening the will in me
Put on a smile inside it was killing me
But ya whatever don't kill ya right?
Dont regret the way you live ya life
Do you want the fame?
Or do you want the power?
How you know whats sweet if you never taste the sour?
How gon be brave if you surround yourself with cowards?
There′s beauty all around us
You just gotta find the balance
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
You just gotta find the balance
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
My life was like a dream
But dreams dont ever last
You jumped
Over hurdles I climbed mount everest
Sometimes I might relax
Most times I'm going hard
To make up for lost time
I doubled my efforts
Triple my ambition
Strengthen my foundation
Like me and tone mason went back to my parents basement
Gavin Sheppard was managing
Blaow was mixing the sound again
Stirling had me all shiny
The whole city was panicking
And i stand here in all my glory
Im thinking will they ever know my story
Money and power I can see the difference
Im like a human with an eagles vision
Magnified I fly over my prey
Been on the other side stuck in predators teeth but
Whatever dont kill ya right
Whats life without the sacrifice
Do you want the fame?
Or do you want the power?
How you know whats sweet if you never taste the sour?
How gon be brave if you surround yourself with cowards?
There's beauty all around us
You just gotta find the balance
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
You just gotta find the balance
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
Gotta go hard I gotta go forward I gotta
You just gotta find the balance
