Wild
snny Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Waking up angry at the world again
This time I'm leaving with the world my friend
I don't participate, I'd rather be running wild, oh
Thank god it was late at night and dial
Your number again, it's been a while
I was joggin' before, I'm running wild
No fuckboys around, that's when I smiled
A whole lot of waiting this summer
Get into the city when I roll this armor
You're not invited to the birthday
'Cause you smoke candles on my worst day
And now you want a piece of the cake, lipo
You hit me up, you wanna crash, no Geiko
I hang up, you proceed to get Michael
Moonwalk to the fridge for an ice cold

Eyes on the road
But took my hands off the whip
You laid me out just to love your love
Eyes on the road
But took my hands off the whip
You laid me out just to love the goddess, take it easy

Waking up angry at the world again
This time I'm leaving with the world my friend
I don't participate, I'd rather be running wild, oh
Thank god it was late at night and dial
Your number again, it's been a while

I was joggin' before, I'm running wild
No fuckboys around, that's when I smiled

Overall Meaning

In “Wild” by snny, the singer wakes up feeling angry at the world but decides to leave that negativity behind and go for a run. He doesn’t participate in the dramas of the world and instead chooses to run wild. The singer calls a person whom he has not spoken to for a while, and running becomes running wild as he connects with the receiver of the call. The following lines talk about summer, and how the singer wants to “get into the city when I roll this armor.” The singer reveals that he doesn't want certain individuals in his circle, as they always bring negativity around. He further asserts that he won't let such people spoil his happiness by denying them access to his birthday party.

The second verse gives a hint of the past, where someone tried to wreak the singer's life. The singer is warned about someone who wants to be in his life, but is not entirely welcome. He switches to subtle insult mode, telling them that they are interested in superficial things such as lipo, and that he has no place in his life. Even when the person contacts him, he does not engage and drops the phone on them. The pre-chorus warns the singer to keep his eye on the road but ends up losing control, perhaps intoxicated with the love that he's feeling. The chorus repeats, and the verse ends with the singer still happy and thankful for reconnecting with an old friend.
