In 2003 team9 started making bootlegs, putting them online and sending them out to like minded radio DJs. James Hyman and Eddy Temple Morris soon picked up on some tracks for their XFM remix show and Blender magazine featured a review for the Britney vs Pixies track.
Throughout 2005 team9 featured on Live 105 and Indie 103 in the US, Qui FM and NRJ in France, UKs Radio 1 and the Remix and Rinse shows on XFM. They have been featured in magazines such as Blender, Spin, NME, Zoo and GQ. As is common with mashup artists, questions of legality surround team9, however, they were given the unofficial ok for a Beck bootleg by having the track featured on the Beck website.
2005 finished with team9 collaborating on a Greenday mash up album 'American Edit by Dean Gray', with San Fransisco's Party Ben, resulting in coverage from MTV, NME and NBC and a protest day dubbed 'Dean Gray Tuesday'. A new half hour mix set for XFM's Superchunk aired in London, Manchester and Scotland in June 2006, with Eddy Temple Morris labelling it one of the most joyously entertaining Superchunk's to have graced his show. Big words.

@@mightguy123456I'd say it's inspiration, each one has it's own vibe and mood, despite using the same sample
The Weekends cover is sadder more reserved almost like the singer is giving up, while Mario's version of the song sounds more desperate and pelading.
Ready or Not from the Fugees is a different song entirely still using the melody, but having that classic simple 90s beat with the snare.
And Enya's orignial song is quiet like the weekends cover, while having a different feel of both mystery and melancholy giving off a haunting vibe.
To say the use if this sample is just a recycle would be doing a major discredit to all the artists here as each one brings a different feel to the song and sample. Being able to revamp and reuse the sample in so many unique ways, shows the creativity and talent of the original, while also showing the innovation of the newer artists.

The burned CD with custom hand-written labeling directly on it 🙌👏
@CreativeTigresa7
OMG YES!! I still have a cd case w/ all the CDs and written labels and one has a custom image of me and my mom when I was little so those definitely are something to cherish.
