I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom.
I hear it ticking but I don't know why.
I call the police, but they don't like me.
I hear 'em whispering when I walk by.

I got a landmine in my bloodline.
I'm not immune to getting blown apart.
She's like a claymore, that's what she's there for.
She's waiting 'round here to get blown apart.

Having her on my brain's like getting hit by a train,
She's gonna kill me. Oh Celeste, oh Celeste.

I got a timebemb, in my mind Mom,
It's gonna go off, but I don't know when.
I need a doctor to extract her.
I got a feeling she'd get right back in again

I got a timebemb, in my mind Mom,
I got it badly for a stick-legged girl
She's gonna kill me, and I don't mean softly.
I got it badly for a stick-legged girl

Having her on my brain's like getting hit by a train,
She's gonna kill me. Oh Celeste, oh Celeste, oh Celeste.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Timebomb" describe the intense and destructive emotions the singer feels towards a particular girl, Celeste. The song presents a metaphorical comparison between the singer's state of mind and the threat of a bomb or landmine. The timebomb represents the ticking anxiety and desperation in the singer's head, and the landmine in his bloodline could allude to familial or generational trauma that contributes to his explosive emotions.

The singer's attempts to seek help from authority figures, such as the police or a doctor, are futile, highlighting a sense of isolation and desperation for the singer. The girl he desires, Celeste, is likened to a claymore, a type of explosive weapon, which suggests that his desire for her is dangerous and could lead to his destruction.

The repetition of the line "She's gonna kill me" underscores the intensity of the singer's emotions and the sense of impending doom. The final lines, "I got it badly for a stick-legged girl," add a touch of vulnerability and suggest that the singer is powerless in the face of his desire.

...MTV and executive control over the music industry...
His videos did blow away every other back then..
The music industry controlled who, what, when, and how much of it you heard...
Then when digital tuning, synthesizers, and game changers like auto-tune, lip sync, and over dubbing... it was just how much you could be marketed.
Like so many mediocre singers that get layered and digitally enhanced.
Mariah Carey can't sing her records songs in concert.. she had layered back tracks and whistle notes of her own voice playing over her "main" live vocal... and you can bet its "digitally enhanced".
Bands before digital had live talent.. now it's mostly just digitally "fixed" and the people just need to be "hot" and marketable..
...maybe Adele is a real vocalist.. Prince an artist. but even superstars like Mariah weren't anyone until she married a music industry CEO..and woo-woo'd..and whistled through... while real fantastic trained voices like Celine Dion has to perform in canada to be appreciated...
I'd say the beatles just crushed it making albums, Queen was the text book perfect concert at Wembly (1986).. Celine Dion, and Josh Groban maybe Best voices..for sheer voice talent.. but none of that matters.. especially now when music is shared, copied and pirated... you can't possibly count "sales" and that's figured into "play" amounts.. like I still hear justin beibers "baby" in my local super market in 2023. ..but was probably part of a 90's contract.. so he got todays January 2023 "play/sales" credit BACK in the 90's..because some super market signed a contract back then..but Beiber has to play in that market till 2040...lol.
So who know... I think most music now isn't about real music, real talent, real voice, good vocals, or any music value at all.. it's almost always what's "trending".. you know.. what a corporation like Amazon, apple, etc puts on your phone screen.. and enough of us monkeys hit that button.. then "Trending" appears next to the picture.. then more of us monkeys hit that picture.. and the monkeys say hmm...
The beatles had to have people physically go into a store.. pick up a record.. pay for it..and go home and play it.. and that was only one sale.

@@LiveKillers89 Now, you're backtracking....

You wrote they were never huge in the US. But, they were. They sold enormous numbers of albums and played the largest concert halls in the US. Had they embarked on a tour of the US in 1986, they would have sold out football stadiums across the US.

You wrote they were banned by MTV. Only one video was banned, and that was 'Body Language'. That is only ONE video.

You wrote they were banned, and you implied everything they ever did was banned. It was not. Far from it.

And 'I Want to Break Free' was not banned. I remember it being played often on MTV at the time it was released.

Don't be so misleading. It's obnoxious.

@WarriorsFanSince-ur3zu

Probably longer if not people making up stories about him. Was mj weird with kids to alot of adults? yes but it came from a good place. People just don't understand love. I have never seen love on this planet. Honestly I dont even want to be on this planet. It's a joke.

@kartikaysharma6365

@The Last Knicks Fan yeah he was weird but innocent.

MJ was sabotaged, he could have easily ruled the 00s as well. Invincible was selling faster than Thriller before Sony stopped promoting it so they could pressure MJ to sell his half of Sony (look into it its pretty dark). His style will forever be relevant with each new generation. This is why he still has over 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with no promo or releases, and why he is the highest earning celebrity for 10 years in a row and why Thriller goes to number one every Halloween, almost 40 years after it dropped.
