Many thanks to creator Matthew Lynn for this deeply personal horror short. Here is a statement from Matt:

"Our most powerful tool as LGBT people is storytelling. It is because of many courageous individuals before me who weren’t afraid to come out of the closet that I am able to create a film like this today. It is in that vein that I felt it was imperative to speak about the horrors of conversion therapy on LGBT people. As a survivor of conversion therapy myself, I know firsthand the psychological torture not only inflicted upon LGBT people from others, but from within as well.

Many people pursue conversion therapy, whether willingly or unwillingly, to change something about their core beliefs. It’s in this vulnerable place that the psyches of these individuals are broken and laid bare for religious zealots to manipulate and impose their will upon. It is a tragedy that unfortunately continues today.

As a survivor of this terrible psychological torture, I consider myself lucky. But it made me ask the question: What if I wasn’t? What if I gave into those people’s deranged beliefs and went further into the closet? WHAT IF CONVERSION THERAPY CREATED A SERIAL KILLER?

It’s through that lens that this film was created. A man, trapped in the closet, must cope with his demons by killing unsuspecting gay men. And in the process find some sort of catharsis for his self-hatred and brokenness."

I loved how the movie led us to believe it was set in the 1950's (the colors, clothes, furniture, even the haircuts), then to have a cell phone ring. The main actor lived as a closeted gay man would in that decade. The OCD behavior ... he was wound so tight, something had to give. Mr. Matthew Lynn, this movie was excellent in every way. So brave of you to tell your story.

I think it would have been fairly clear to anyone at all familiar with things like giving oneself electric shocks while watching gay porn as negative reinforcement (or being shocked by others, or sometimes automatically).

This made me sad considering I know this happens in real life. Religion makes people want to hurt themselves and others because they believe that they are doing tye wrong thing and it will make them go go hell. Religion is supposed to teach love and acceptance. I felt so bad for the poor guy who got killed. Unfortunately this happens all the life. Really hit to close to home for me. I know friends that have gotten killed in situations like this.

Why did his son receive the picture on his cellphone? Or was that his dad's cellphone? At first I thought the killer would get his comeuppance.

Like how some like to make a fan character to represent themselves in anime or comics.
This specifically targets those who use anthro animals customized (from hybrid species, non realistic creatures, and the rainbow of color smashing is endless.) To represent themselves in a fantasy world, or simply just enjoy drawing specifically anthro characters with more human like traits than a standard werewolf or something.
It ranges like anime from wholesome to xxx. Don't let anyone tell yah otherwise. However the main connection is loving animal qualities, seeing them in yourself and creating a character that represents you in the fantasy world.

@Matthew Lynn, This was an Excellent short horror film that didn't FEEL rushed in my opinion. It's difficult to have a beginning, middle, and an ending in short films, and not miss key elements of the story, which this film didn't leave you feeling like that. I found it horrific when I read about the church camps and mental institutions trying pray the gay away or electricute it out, when all thats really doing is creating monsters and demiented serial killers. The saddest thing of all is that its 2022 and people still think being gay is a choice...😕

This is definitely horrifying. The murder of anyone who is unsuspecting is tragic and horror in and if itself.
The two leads being gay were apropos for Pride month and has its own scary angle as you would hope two gay men would be supportive of each other. This is where good horror comes from as it rocks the boat with a foot still in reality. We all have to be careful in any new relationship.
I appreciate the Director Michael Lynn making a statement on what if a person who went through conversion therapy became a serial killer. I got the angle wrong when viewing. My interpretation was that the older man, who happened to be gay and prey on other gay men, was a Furry losing his grip on his humanity to act out on animal instincts.
Anyway the short film format worked and great job to all in involved.
