z-trip & radar Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

Once upon a time I heard em say everything would be A-okay
Still I'm looking every which way and every corner hides a face of hate
Least that's what the drugs doing to my brain everybody seem so damn fake
Transient easy to replace once upon a time I heard em say
Everything would be A-okay still I'm looking every which way
And every corner hides a face of hate, that's what the drugs doing to my brain
Everybody seem so damn fake, we all stars bent outta shape, misguided beings led on an escapade
I know my ledge, that don't mean I let you push me to the edge, to the edge
I won't forget, what we had to sacrifice to get ahead, ahead
Bet you ain't ran the miles
You ain't read my file
You don't know me
I been round a while
Studying the game
Stacking up like towels
All these things I learned make em worth my wildest imaginations
I been way too patient
Y'all been out here faking
Easy made replacements
Tryna fuck me over
DNA I trace it
Black mirror game
Jesse Plemons faces
Sorry you can't face it
Catch it like a facet
In every aspect this is black magic
Y'all been tryna cap it, but you can't tap it, into what's happening, we just call it trapping
Indigo mind something telepathic
Shock you like I'm static
TRIP creating havoc
It's all systematic
Rock you systematic
Moving through this traffic with the music blasting
I've been, tryna contain myself
Seems like they don't want help
Life ain't a game
Stop tryna play yourself
I've been, tryna contain myself
Seems like they don't want help
Life ain't a game
Stop tryna play yourself
I know my ledge, that don't mean I let you push me to the edge, to the edge
I won't forget, what we had to sacrifice to get ahead, ahead
Tell me, how'd they confuse it?
They just want the 'best" man
I wanna be the "best man"
They just wanna kickstand Wow wow
I gotta kick this, habitual distance, cuz you don't do you just a witness
Tell me can I get a witness no
Tell me what's the problem
Everybody's got em
Talking bout em's therapeutic, but not when all you say's revolving
Around drugs money hoes
You know how it goes
Different lil name
Same damn clothes
Same damn chain
Same damn lane, (skirt skirt)
No we are not the same
Cuz I'm a student for the lifetime, and you is in it for the limelight
I'm tryna be a lifeline
You is from a different timeline
I been out here tryna get mine
Never been the type to switch sides and you've been there and that's all fine
Just as long as you know I'm
Finna make it happen, despite the distraction
Put the plan in action, orderly in fashion
Tryna change the flow but you can't stop the passion
This is more than rapping even though I'm gassing
This is more than just a feeling
Manifesting of the vision
This is how we make a difference, and change the way these people living aye yay yea
I know my ledge, that don't mean I let you push me to the edge, to the edge
I won't forget, what we had two sacrifice to get ahead, ahead
I can't settle into a slump
We gone make it bump bump bump
That's the sound up in the trunk
Yo nigga settle like a chump
I can't settle in
I can't ride a trend
Mobbing with my friends, till the very end
We won't ever fold
We won't even bend
Focused on the dub
Tryna get the win
They be on the outside looking in
Saying killer man please let me in knowing that'll be my biggest sin
Now a nigga gotta gone and repent, when I'm simply tryna represent, everything that is So evident
While you niggas focused on what's relevant
Y'all go ahead and face the consequence that was brought onto ya damn self
We da men and we demand wealth
When you see us sitting on the damn shelf
Gone blow it like it's top shelf cuz we know you love to get high
So hater why ask why
I can see the salt all up in ya eye
They don't wanna see astral beings in touch with the sky
Gotta give a little bit of effort nigga can't say you didn't try
Cross my heart and hope to die
I'm watching my angels fly

We feeling the pain inside
We tryna see eye to eye, so we channel the power inside

@ELCONDUCTOR

THIS and a handful of other mixes are in my opinion are WAAAAY ahead of there time.. I was in the under ground scene in PHX, AZ around 97-99 .. The vibe then was amazing.. Anytime Bomb Shelter Crew rocked a party they murdered it!

Real bro

@alfredoagustin4062

Are still alive?

@justinthomas2880

I was there with you. I know CA-Massives are supposed to be the best, but I always felt like AZ had a much better scene, - atmosphere and crowd.

@Psychoroc83

still timeless after over 20 years

Whaaaaat? I lost this recording years ago after wearing out at least three copies first! My all'time favorite party compilation to dance, zone, groove, fucking appreciate the joining of this collection. Whoever uploaded this, I thank you wholeheartedly! Long live the will & spirit to dance all fucking night!

@jasommerfield

Yes!!! I had a burned cd copy of this early 2000’s. Few beats always were in my head for years. Finally figured out the djs and found this. It’s like winning the lotto!!!

@daniellewineland7523

I had this on CD back in the day. I forgot how good it is!!

@bluescat59

Every Z-trip mix I hear is jaw-dropping, from one to the next.

@codystewart3481

Somehow I received a burnt copy of this in Indianapolis around '00 and it still stands out in my mind after all these years. I can't tell you anything about that scene or genre whatsoever, even as a passionate addict of all-things-music. even more interesting to realize it was AZ underground. Simply great stuff. Glad I finally found it. Thanks!
