Larry Stewart left Restless Heart in late 1991 after the group released the compilation "The Best of Restless Heart." The group then became a quartet and released "Big Iron Horses" in 1992 shortly after which Dave Innis left the group. The group released "Matters of the Heart" in 1994 before splitting up. In 1998, a reunited Restless Heart (minus Innis) recorded three new songs for a Greatest Hits album and then toured with Vince Gill for about a year.
In 2003, all five members reunited and recorded the album "Still Restless" for Koch Nashville in 2004. The record label closed in early 2005 leaving the group without a label. They are still touring and released a live album through their website in August 2007.
Big Dreams In A Small Town
Restless Heart Lyrics

Eighteen and glory bound
Nothing here to tie us down
Big dreams in a small town
Rollin' down a dusty road
In my daddy's Ford
I wish that I
I remember those summer nights
On the brink of love
You and I made
More than plans back then
Big dreams in a small town
Eighteen and glory bound
Nothing here to tie us down
Big dreams in a small town
Big dreams in a small town
Eighteen and glory bound
Nothing here to tie us down
Big dreams in a small town
We were gonna try to set the world on fire
We were gonna make it all come true
We used to say that we couldn't wait to leave this town
That was something we were born to do
Big dreams in a small town
Eighteen and glory bound
Nothing here to tie us down
Big dreams in a small town
Oh, ain't it funny how it always seems
That time has a way of changin' all your dreams
Big dreams in a small town
Guess it's time to settle down
Don't ya like the way it sounds
You and me in a small town
Big dreams in a small town
Big dreams in a small town
The song "Big Dreams in a Small Town" by Restless Heart follows the story of a young couple who are dreaming of big things but feel restricted by the limits of their small town. The lyrics express the desire to break free from the boundaries of their current lives and achieve something greater. The opening lines set the stage for the rest of the song, as we are introduced to the idea of big dreams that are being held back by a narrow-minded environment. But despite feeling constrained, the singer still remembers the exciting moments of youth, driving around in his father's Ford, and feeling free and unstoppable.
As the song progresses, the lyrics describe how the couple had aspirations that they would set the world on fire and make their big dreams come true. They were determined to leave the town they grew up in and spread their wings beyond its limits. But as they grew older, things changed. They find that time has a way of altering one's dreams, and their focus shifts to settling down and starting a new life together in the same small town.
Overall, "Big Dreams in a Small Town" speaks to the universal feeling of ambition and the roadblocks we may face as we strive to achieve our goals. The song captures the tension between wanting to break free and wanting to feel grounded, and it ultimately leaves listeners with a sense of nostalgia and acceptance for the ebbs and flows of life.
