At the age of 14, she signed with local Sonolux, recording her debut album Enamorate Como Yo in 1997. Destellos de Amor followed in 1998. A year later, performing along with accordionist Harold Rivera, they represented Colombia at Berlin's Summer Festival. Composer/arranger Omar Geles produced her album Te Amaria, released in 2000. After teaming up with accordion player John Lozano, Lucía recorded De Corazón A Corazón in 2001.
