Having made his name as founder of live poetry collective Aisle16, Luke branched out on his own, coming runner-up in Slam Poets on BBC3, the UK’s first televised poetry slam. He is now a 4Talent Award winner and regular contributor to Radio 4’s Saturday Live. Since 2006 he has written and starred in three one-man shows, all of which have won five star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival and toured nationally.
In 2007 Penguin published his first book. Who Writes This Crap?, co-authored with Joel Stickley, is a trip through all rubbish you read in a day rewritten. A live show based on the book recently enjoyed a sold out 4 week run in Edinburgh and will tour in 2009. Luke is also an experienced workshop leader and curator and host of The Poetry Arena at the Latitude Festival, the largest live poetry event in Europe.
