Based in Dunedin the band have recorded two 12 track CDs; predominantly celebrating rum, wine and women. The first, Sloppy Rock, was released in March 2005 on the bands own label d-fi records. It was well received by the Dunedin public.
With the departure of Salty Sid in June 2005, the Dogs found Knockin Boots Cutler playing the spoons on a deserted island. He was rescued and put to work as our new drummer. Mr Cutler quickly picked up the old songs and gave the Dogs renewed energy in their live performances, which by now were becoming ever more entertaining. A short South Island tour Southern Skullduggery followed in October.
With a bunch of new songs the band recorded their second 12 track CD at the end of 2005. Made with Child Labour is only currently available at our shows. Fifteen pieces of gold secures your copy.
The Dogs completed a NZ wide tour in February/March and a short South Island tour in October. A video for the song 'Leaving for the War' was released in November 2006. 2007 saw the Dogs involved in Dunedin University Capping Show, a new CD called '432Rum' - which featured 10 new songs and bonus live material. Arrrmonger jumped ship to Canadarrrr and has been replaced by Dirty Jack Crab on bass. Jimmy jack Tar was briefly locked up by his wench, until Cap'n Shag negotiated his release. So roll on 2008 as we be back....the mighty Scurvy Dogs.
