I love this and feel a strong kinship. Not trying to put labels on it or understand it. Whatever it is, it definitely is. Especially the drum. I was invited to participate in shamanic drumming journeys when I was pregnant with my son, and they were extremely powerful. I’ve not shared (on my blog before) because I thought people would think I’m a bit cookoo but I think I’m going to ditch that fear and start sharing more.

Booom! Mind blown! ;-) (Mine, and who knows – heehe – maybe others too.)

My son and I are connected to nature, I hear it, feel it, am one with it (as we all should be anyhow) – and clearly my son is too. While doing the shamanic drumming journeys my power animal, the Bison, was constantly present, loving, gentle, powerful. I had no idea before those journeys that it was my power animal – that I even had one.

Everyone in the room sensed a spirit one of the times we did the drumming journeys, and a couple of us heard it breathing behind me. Not scary. I was told one of my son’s spirit guides is an old Native American – very stern, very protective – everything has to be just right for my son, or else. ;-) Of course now that he has his “terrible three’s”, he is most definitely learning about his very earthly boundaries from his very own mom! :-)

Here’s something equally “mind-blowing” for those who just stumbled upon this. Love love love Kellie’s experience. I totally get it. :-) http://verakasi.wordpress.com/.../17/sacred-tree-i-see-you/

...Well, whatdaya know - I'm becoming more courageous about sharing this stuff. And now that I think of it, not sharing would be just plain old dumb. Who wants to put a lid on their soul? Anyone? ;-P

Thank You!!!!! :-)

SACRED TREE -- By Kellie Roy, holistic and crystal healer

As I climb down “Tent Rock” an evergreen tree suddenly strikes me. I am drawn to go closer.

I look upon the tree and it speaks to me.

It says:

“We are the tree people. We live in balance and harmony in the three worlds. We are very old and sacred. We will work with you, and teach you about our sacred healing abilities so you may use the knowledge for your self and others. We bless you on your journey as you pray for and bless us. You may take two of our pinecones.”

I befriended a family of Navajo Native Americans on the way down the mountain. I was daring and decided to ask them if they had any knowledge of the “Tree People”.

A beautiful man with long thick black hair spoke right up and told me this is very sacred knowledge I ask about. I told him the tree told me on the way down the mountain. He openly shared about the tree people and said it has been passed down from generation to generation. I asked if I could research it and he laughed a bit. He told me I will have to talk to the people! This is nothing I can read in a book. He also told me there are many healing properties in the sap of the evergreen.

This Navajo family amazed me! What ever information I told them in regard to things the earth tells me, they completely understood.

The grandmother was taken aback at first by my knowings but we quickly broke the ice. She told me “Every thing is alive”. I knew just what she meant. This family was so sweet. We talked about the regular life stuff but could also easily speak about communication with our plants as if it was an every day topic. These were my people and we all understood the connection. I was not out of place, I did not have to prove myself or suppress my knowings. We did not judge each other. We simply were sharing our souls freely and lovingly.

I will never forget all the gifts “Tent Rock” brought to me. New Mexico is always a part of me now. I have a new bond with and an understanding of the Navajo people.

This is a quote from Mark Twain, and I really understand it:

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”

I see you, do you see me? We can dance to our beats perfectly. Let our natural rhythm fill our voids and we can have happiness. It’s up to us and our divine choice.

Don’t judge me – because you are only judging yourself. Instead, feel my heart like I feel yours, and we will understand the greater picture together.

I thought to share some other folks for now, or at times. Thank you Kellie Roy for sharing this absolutely beautiful experience and letting me share it forward. As I got to “every thing is alive” I cried a bit. I too hear, see and feel nature like you. It’s perhaps odd, but I admit I often like trees, the wind, fire and all of nature more than people. The wind answers to my sigh, the trees talk to me. My son has been having conversations with trees since he was old enough to go outside and see them. Luckily, he has a mom who gets it!

I see you, do you see me? :-)

I hope my son will get educated by both the trees and the Navajo (or you! :-) in the future.

Be grateful for every challenge, turn it all into beauty.

P.S. It’s interesting that as I was looking for an image, I did an image search on google for “a sacred pine tree” and very ancient things came up! This one underneath is from the palace of Ashurnasirpal, now in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. It’s under the title “The Assyrian Sacred Tree” and titled “an eagle-headed genie with a pine cone”.
