Think Fall Out Boy and The All American Rejects at a party with Maná, Juanes and Daddy Yankee.
The four members: Robert Hernandez (Cuban); Camilo Velandia (Colombian); Daniel Restrepo (Colombian); and Angelo Garrido (Mexican) are young, talented, hard-working, driven, and each brings his own unique flavor to the group. Singer, Robert models professionally and has been featured in commercials, music videos and TV Shows on major channels Univision and Telemundo. His pop songwriting sensibility is influenced by artists like Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Maroon5 and Coldplay. Camilo discovered keyboard at age 5 thanks to his father, a musician. He plays keys, bass, violin and of course, the guitar. In 2007, Milo was recruited by BinaryStar Music to perform with their artist Rayko/KRB. He’s played most of Miami’s “Hot Spots”, even opening for Stephen Marley and John Legend. Bassist, Daniel has had the honor of studying with some of Miami’s most prestigious teachers, such as Jose Adan and Ed Calle. Like fellow Colombian, Milo, he has been involved with music in some way since age 5, playing the flute at school and later picking up the guitar. Daniel has just recently fallen in love with the bass, and he and drummer, Angelo “Mex”, anchor ArenAzul’s tight grooves. Angelo’s love of music is vast, from Reggae to Hardcore, and HipHop to Jazz to Latin Pop/Rock. He has played in many bands of all genres and was part of the drumline in high school, being named ‘Captain’ his senior year. When asked to describe their sound, Angelo says “its music that’s gonna make you jump up and dance”. The other members are quick to add, “it kick’s butt”, “its full of flavor, and most people can relate to our lyrics”.
ArenAzul just released their debut single “Mas Que Tu Amigo” from their upcoming EP of the same name, coming in time for the holidays. Their full length album will follow in the Spring of 2009, both via the independent label BinaryStar Music.
