Bart & Baker are two French disc jockeys, producers and singer-songwriters … Read Full Bio ↴Bart & Baker are two French disc jockeys, producers and singer-songwriters of electronic music in the electro-swing, electro-jazz and deep house styles. Formed in 2007, the duo are currently distributed by Wagram Music.

According to an interview given to the 20 minutes newspaper in April 2010, the duo explained that they met in 1999 and chose to use pseudonyms. Jo Baker chose hers as a tribute to Joséphine Baker, friend of her mother, the classical musician Majoie Hajary. For Bart Sampson, the link is more trivial and leads back to cartoon hero Bart Simpson.

The duo started their career in 2007 and first performed in many Parisian venues such as La Machine du Moulin Rouge, Elysées Biarritz, La Flèche d'or, Le Divan du Monde, Crazy Horse or le Balajo.

Their meeting with the Wagram Music label in 2010 enabled them to design the Swing Party compilation which will be followed by around twenty others. From 2011, they began producing and then writing around 100 songs, including more than 30 as a songwriter.

As they explain in an interview published in April 2016 on the Moveon Mag site, their music is particularly suited to audiences keen on retro, vintage and burlesque atmospheres.

They are particularly noted for the Electro Swing series published by Wagram Music between 1999 and 2016, which has become the benchmark of the genre in France and around the world.
