Jogadão pelo Manguinho, DJ Chris Beats
Hu uh uh uh uh
Ret
Lupa nova de carro do ano
Vem chegando o verão RJ é o fervo 'to com ela no audi rufando
Com tempo nós só 'tá melhorando
Nada mal é o bando
Minha facção é a família, os irmão sempre bem
O importante é nós 'tá se orgulhando
'To lucrando o dia inteiro na onda
Dentro do cinzeiro mil ponta
No escuro toda luz afronta
Dez anos de maestria se o bonde é meu foda-se quem 'tá contra
Nós pode dá um rolê de lancha
Eu gosto quando ela me arranha
Tão longe que ninguém alcança
Do Corte Americano e o bigodin' finin'
Ela tá me instigando, rebolando pra mim
Do Corte Americano e o bigodin' finin'
'To nessa a vários ano, muito longe do fim
Cordão de ouro combinando com o banco
Blusa do Flamengo não é camisa é manto
Ela pergunta como é que eu lucro tanto
Pique jogador me destaco no campo
Tipo vinho eu melhoro com o tempo
De onde eu venho nós não perde tempo
É que aqui nós não abraça mancada
E se não abraça o papo tu fica de exemplo
Se eu não 'to presente ela me sente
Através do som, L7 é tipo vento
Tua amiga me manda mensagem
Mas não quero ela
Então linda só vem tu
Cabelo na régua e meu nome no mapa
Se eu não 'to de América eu lanço o du Jaca
Chris 'tá do Manguinho
Mano eu 'to do barata
Ret do Catete, da Glória e da Lapa
Do Corte Americano e o bigodin' finin'
Ela 'tá me instigando, rebolando pra mim
Do Corte Americano e o bigodin' finin'
'To nessa a vários ano, muito longe do fim
The lyrics to "Corte Americano" by Filipe Ret, L7nnon and Chris Beats Zn express a sense of pride and confidence in their lifestyle and success. The opening lines describe getting their hair and appearance perfectly in order before heading out to Manguinho, a neighborhood known for its high-energy parties. Ret brags about driving a new car and enjoying the summer in Rio de Janeiro with his crew. He mentions that he's been making money all day, smoking a lot of weed, and feeling like his group is always improving.
The chorus of the song repeats "Do Corte Americano e o bigodin' finin'" which roughly translates to "With the American haircut and the finicky mustache." This line likely refers to the specific hairstyle that is popular in Brazil that's been influenced by American barbershops. While this line doesn't seem to be particularly meaningful, it adds to the overall sense of pride in their appearance and coolness.
The verses also discuss their sense of style, with mentions of a gold chain that matches the car's interior, and Ret's Flamengo shirt that he calls a "mantle" rather than just a jersey. The themes of success and confidence continue throughout the song, with Ret rapping about being a skilled player both on the field and in real life.
Overall, "Corte Americano" reflects the bravado and swagger that's so commonly found in hip hop music, but with a distinctly Brazilian twist. The lyrics celebrate their unique cultural influences and the ways in which they stand out from the crowd.
