Based out of Northampton, MA, he released his debut EP in April 2012, but had already been playing around the country for some years, particularly in the northeast and Texas. He was a finalist at the 2012 CT Folk Festival Songwriting Competition and has supported acts like Iris Dement, Poor Old Shine, and Toby Walker.
As a performer Jake is genuine and commanding on stage, common responses from audiences are “powerful” and “moving”. As a songwriter and musician he has been influenced by everything, however Folk, Country, Blues, R&B, Soul and roots music are the strongest influences. To pick a few artists from his well of learning - Roscoe Holcomb, Townes Van Zandt, Muddy Waters, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen.
