Having spent many years of early life in hospital she has fond memories of sesame street! She sang her first solo 'It was on a starry night' in a church concert and continued feeding her thirst with Fred Hammond, Tramaine Hawkins, Commissioned, Take 6, and the like.
At high school she began and directed a gospel choir and started singing with the Leeds Jazz Rock Orchestra, leading the band to a gold medal in a national competition. Her love for music continued into theatre where she sang one of solo parts in the very first Carnival Messiah at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. After a stint of TV extras and commercials and a black achievers award, encouraged by her taste for poetry and commitment to Christianity she began to write songs and her determination led her to take on the sole job of producing her own album.
Amazingly she managed to get people such as Nicky Brown, Linslee Campbell, Emmanuel Waldron and the excellent Michael Brown (featuring on the popular 'They Said') to see a spark in a young lady from Leeds. Her sheer gusto and led her to release ' Edify' in 2003, with 'Callin' 'Alpha and Omega' and 'They Said' being 3 of the 14 songs.
Jhardine continued writing for organisations and events, the most recent being for the 2009 Yorkshire and Humberside Faith forum conference where her indie rock song 'Hold my Hand' finale had the whole audience singing and waving along.
This singer, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur with a refreshingly straightforward beautiful voice, impressive vocal range, stunning personality and formidable song-writing skills. Writes and sings from traditional to soft rock, but ALL gospel.
Her new songs 'It's Alright' 'I can SEE THE MORNING' (featuring WITNESS) and 'I love Him' reflect the growth Jhardine herself says she has made. She says... "accompany me on my journey through the ups and the downs but on the straight road, guided by my Father in Heaven, and be blessed"
