Often, their songs and compositions contained hints of North African and Jewish Shepardic melodies as well as the Hebrew songs of the band members’ youth.
The band members were heavily influenced by the Rolling Stones, Blue Cheer and Led Zeppelin, but came up with a sound of their own. The man in the control room was Kim Fowley himself, who also joined the band on several tracks. Another guest is Northern African percussionist Youssef Berrebi, who gave some tracks a distinctive “eastern” flavour, something reminiscent of Jimmy Page’s “White Summer” or “Black Mountain Side”.
