It is a gift of this life to him, not unlike a subtle, visceral means of stationary motion, of traveling without moving. His first experience with creating and playing music was at the age of 13, when he played guitar in a school band, and had his first live concert. At the age of 17 he formed a psychedelic heavy metal as the vocalist. At about the same time, his fondness of down-tempo and ambient music drove him to start a solo project in the genre, experimenting with various software available at the time. Due to his relocation back to his home country a year later, the band parted, but his experimentation with ambient music continued on and off as he pursued his studies. In 2002, Muamer took up the moniker of Na-Koja-Abad, translated literally as the Land of Nowhere, which is a term coined by the twelfth-century Persian mystic Sohrawardi to describe a place that is everywhere, and yet nowhere, a realm of spirituality where existence is solemnly suspended, not reflected on anything but itself. This was a result of his ever-growing interest and research in Sufism and shamanism, which also lead him to take his musical project to another level, that of trance-inducing tribal ambience. His approach to creating these tribal soundscapes is ritualistic in itself, in so much that it requires a temporary liberation from the rational mind’s processes, allowing an intuitive flow. In 2002, he completed and published his first book of poetry, entitled “High Meadow,” for the US-based BookSurge Publishing house. Muamer Musić is an introvert born in 1980 in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is alive in Sarajevo.
