The 'Pariah Qarey' alias was taken up (replacing previous pseudo-names 'Dr. Jadge', 'The Percolator', 'Snake Hips', 'Vagabond 3000', etc..) in the closing months of 2005 to make pacey, textured electric bangers. In May of 2009 pq debuted live in his current home-base of Liverpool. Immediately after this, work began on an album of fresh-clean material, which would slow the pace slightly, allowing breathing space & room for the saucily subtle layers to appear, and a jockinable beat to lambast itself more obviously on the forefront of yo motherlobe.
September 2009 swore in the appearance of Pariah Qarey's debut, released by free-net-label Upitup Records, called 'Tha Freewheelin Kubic Zirkonia'. The all-new style combines elements of many previously attempted electronic music genres (hiphop, idm, techno etc.) and has come to be known infamously as "Superstep". The album is available in full as a free download via the Upitup website: http://www.upitup.com/catalogue/release.php?cat_id=30
Pariah Q plays or has played in a number of L-pool bands including indica ritual, stig noise sound system, and Mother Earth (with fellow superstep pioneer binary toad, as well as the Mallet Guitars ensemble Ex-Easter Island Head.
During the overbearing spring of 2011, PQ felt the heat of Harlem and changed up names to "Big Effigy". With an album's worth of dense material backed-up in some kind of digital plumbing system, so to speak, look out for another low-key release under this hot new street-level tag handle.
