I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth

I know that my redeemer liveth
And he shall stand
Stand at the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth

And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God

I know that my redeemer liveth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Shall i see God

I know that my redeemer liveth
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep
Of them that sleep
The first fruits of them that sleep
For now is Christ risen
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep

My husband and I chose to have a friend sing this at our oldest son's funeral. To me, it is a song of hope and consolation!

RosOfficeSolutions Inc

indeed it is. Prayers of peace and comfort to you

My deepest condolences, friend, wherever you are in the world. I too love this aria and even had the honor of singing this at my grandmother's funeral. It is a song of deep consolation and hope through faith in God. Job, in the midst of his pain and suffering, after losing his wealth, then his children and finally his own health, declares this: that his faithful redeemer, savior and God, lives and will restore, renew and resurrect all to new life. Last year to now has been so hard for so many. Yet we do have a living hope in the redeemer - Jesus Christ, both now and eternally.

Condolences and strength to you. And lots of love.

We had it at our daughter's funeral too. Such a comforting truth!

My husband and I used to sing the Messiah. He died at Christmas 10 years ago and I haven’t been able to sing since. I am reading a book by Mary Balogh and one of the characters sings this so I had to find it on YouTube. Now I’m crying, I haven’t heard thus music for ten years. Thanks Mrs Balogh and the soloist here. It brings back such beautiful and sad memories.

I was the same after my husband died. He was an organist and I sing, it was how we met. A year or so after he died, I plucked up courage and joined a choral society. I could hear his voice in my head telling me off. I'm still singing well I was before coronavirus

Pray that you can sing again!
