The lyrics to Tekno's song "Don't Jealous Me" speak to the idea of rising above jealousy and staying true to oneself. The first verse highlights this theme by drawing parallels between different things that don't mix or belong together, such as a Suzuki and a Jincheng or a Sheep and a Lion. Tekno then asserts that he doesn't pretend to be someone he's not, and he's always true to himself, even when going out on the weekends. He compares his footwork to that of Pogba (a famous soccer player known for his fancy footwork), and invites others to get on his level ("me I want to get on your don don don").
The chorus reinforces the idea of jealousy and how it can manifest in negative ways, urging listeners not to be jealous of someone else's success or lifestyle ("that's that jealousy, don't you jealous me"). The repetition of the phrase "sheep don't run with lion, snake don't swing with monkey" underscores the idea that people should stick with those who are similar to them and not try to be something they're not.
The bridge includes a mixture of Nigerian and Ghanaian phrases, highlighting the song's African roots. The inclusion of different titles and honorifics adds to the idea of respect and elevating oneself. Tekno finishes the song by repeating the chorus, emphasizing again the message to rise above feelings of jealousy and stay true to oneself.
