Comprised of Jeff DaRosa on bass and vocals, Ben Brewer on lead guitar and vocals, and the singularly-named Gunnar on drums, The Exit function similarly to the Clash or Husker Du. Two individual songwriters, that each posses their own unique sound and point of view, while complimenting each other. If DaRosa’s work tends toward introspection, Brewer’s songs are searing and bold, while both attack affairs of the heart and matters of the world. Brewer and Gunnar, met in Highschool and had played in several bands together, one of them turned into an early incarnation of 'The Exit'. It wasn't until 2000 that Brewer met DaRosa while attending school in Boston. DaRosa soon joined the group, and the band started touring in early 2001. Since then the band has recorded 2 albums- New Beat (2001) - Produced by Daniel Ray (Ramones, Misfits, Debbie Harry) on Some records, and Home for an Island originally released in 2004 on Some records. In 2005 The Exit signed to Wind-Up Records and re-released 'Home for an Island' - Produced by Ron Saint Gemain (Tool, Sonic Youth) and Chris Shaw (Weezer, Public Enemy, Bob Dylan)
Susan was used on the American Pie 2 Soundtrack.
