Tokyo Shoegazer was originally formed as one-off band for the purpose of performing at Sasabuchi Hiroshi's birthday live party at Shibuya O-WEST on October 12, 2010. The original line-up was Sasabuchi on drums, Watanabe Kiyomi (Kara and acid android) on guitar, Yuki (Presence of soul) on vocals and guitar, Yoshi (Presence of soul) on guitar and the K (101A) on bass.
On May 15th, 2013, Tokyo Shoegazer released their second album, turnaround. By then, Yuki had already replaced by new member Gomi Makoto of Zeppet Store. Shortly after, on May 23rd, actress and model Ananda Jacobs joined the band as vocalist.
After receiving a resignment notice from the K, the band split following a final live performance on October 18th, 2013. In 2014, Sasabuchi, Watanabe and Yoshi formed shoegazing band, CQ.
In April of 2019 they reunited and latter the same year in November 28th they released their third album, Moondiver.
On June 8th, 2022, they released their fourth album, Moonworld Playground.
Their songs are mostly draws element from shoegaze, post-rock, noise rock and dream pop.
