The person behind the project is Antonis Tsolakidis, born and raised in Piraeus, Greece on the 22nd of September in 1980. Musical influences started early, mostly consisting of classic rock and metal songs, especially ballads. Perhaps that's why in XRTC tunes one can find a lot of "sensitive" and "sentimental" melodies.
The transition from a pure listener to a more "active" role in music started at around the age of 14 with a classic guitar and some basic chord-playing. But it was during the teen years that he found his real flair was the rhythm, be it creation or recreation. So, at the age of 18, he started attending lessons at a music school learning how to play the drums.
Two years later he discovered psy-trance and begun to explore the endless possibilities of digital music. As a listener at first, but then slowly beginning to "decode" this mind-bending music in front of a computer screen, he tried to make some (primitive at the time) tracks. In the meantime, he finished his studies as a Biomedical Engineer and started to work as one.
Thus, so far, music production (and dj-ing) is just a "hobby". A way of expressing feelings and letting out the creative energy most people have inside them hidden.
