The Climb
Miley Cyrus Lyrics

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I, I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, 'cause

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
(Yeah)

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes you're gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah-yeah-yeah)

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep your faith
Keep your faith

Whoa-oh

I never understood this song so well but now that I am 20 I understand it perfectly and it means so much to me.

When I was a teen, I knew this song had a deep meaning, but until I became an adult did I learn that this song really describes life in general. Going through college, we think we have a plan. That we’re going to get out and get that job, get married, have a family and everything will fall into place… That is until we actually get out into the real world and face reality. And we find out that we don’t like our bosses, that we’re not getting paid enough, that we can’t afford rent and that our initial plan didn’t go as well as we had hoped. At times you’ll feel like you’re going down a river with no paddle or direction. We deal with social issues, depression, self esteem issues and we compare our lives to others thinking that everyone else has it better, when in reality those people are facing similar problems. And then you come back to a song from your childhood realizing it’s true meaning. Life in itself is a climb.

When you’re in your 20s and experiencing mid life crisis as a young adult trying to make it in the world… then you’ll truly understand the meaning of this song… When I was 14 I didn’t know…

Same. When I was a kid I used to jam to this song. I know theirs a deep meaning to it. But I just understand it now that I'm in my 20's
