No Wheaties
Big K.R.I.T. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Verse 1: Big K.R.I.T.]
The epitome of greatness, face it, no one plays it close
Sweetness on the beat that Walter Payton flow
On track to be the best, what you pacing fo'?
Call plays, step back, pump fake and throw
Who dat? Drew Breezin' down the field?
The document is monumental sh*t, reel to reel
No huddle game plannin', my
Form outstanding, most haters commentators call them Pat Buchanans
Doors still slamming on the Cadillac
Swinging lane to lane, gripping grain like a battle ax
Camera man, capture the future like it's here for me
While these cheerleaders cheer for me

[Hook: Big K.R.I.T.]
We too hard to be crushed
Too gone to be stuck
Too fly to be touched
Too much to be us
So we, just let em do they thing
Cause we something like the A-team
And I ain't talking about they team
I'm talking Super Bowl great team
Undefeated all season
Champion sh*t, no Wheaties
Greetings

[Verse 2: Smoke DZA]
Greatest '72 Dolphins, 2010 Saints
We doing what they ain't
Say it ain't so
Double back, what you came for
Tryna mango matter fact where your bankrolls?
Make them n*ggas pay like T.O
Mike Irving with the lines, f*ck n*ggas get your grind
N*ggas know I get it in, Vince Lombardi
Award recipient, n*gga DZA track flippa
That n*gga like LT, run through competition smell me
Coming at you 3-D, betta' eat ya Wheaties
Brett Favre, I go hard, it's too easy

[Hook: Big K.R.I.T.]

[Verse 3: Curren$y]
Yea, John Taylor, just as nice as Jerry Rice
Still dump Gatorade on the coach and rock this ring
For the "un" lets sing, ya done ya thing
I seen it all from the bleachers, schoolin' them
Giving lesson plans to the teachers
All from behind the scenes
Pulling strings, out for one thing
Al Davis's just win babies, Lost Ark Raiders
At the airport early rocking the latest
From one of my two clothing lines, that's product placement
Ice cubes in my pocket too many drive Elway style I got this

[Hook: Big K.R.I.T.]

Overall Meaning

In "No Wheaties" by Big K.R.I.T., the song is about being the best and not letting anyone hold you down. The first verse is about how K.R.I.T. is the epitome of greatness, with no one even coming close to him. He refers to himself as the "Sweetness on the beat" with a "Walter Payton flow." He is "on track to be the best," but wonders why people are still trying to keep up with him. He compares himself to Drew Brees, possibly because he is also from the south and has accomplished great things. K.R.I.T. knows that his form is outstanding, but most haters still find ways to criticize him, like the commentators calling those critics Pat Buchanans. Even with all the hate, he continues to stay on the right path and will not let anyone bring him down.

Smoke DZA takes over in the second verse, continuing the football metaphor. He compares himself to the 1972 Miami Dolphins and the 2010 New Orleans Saints. He is doing things that nobody else is doing and wants to know why others aren't following his lead. He is trying to "make them n*ggas pay like T.O," referring to Terrell Owens and how he used to celebrate in the end zone after making a touchdown. He equates himself to a track star, running through competition while smelling the victory. He has to eat his Wheaties to do it, but he will come out on top like Brett Favre.

Curren$y wraps up the song in the third verse by speaking about how he is just as good as Jerry Rice and John Taylor. He hints at his success behind the scenes, pulling strings to get what he wants. He references Al Davis’s famous motto of β€œjust win, baby,” and how he always comes out on top. He is always looking for the best, whether it's with the latest fashion or Elway's style of playing football. Overall, in "No Wheaties", the three rappers are talking about their greatness and how they won't let anyone hold them down.
