I love that line "Don't take me for what I'm saying, just take me for what I am" what a great line when it comes to people just trying to find hidden meanings in anything you do - to doubt you, to find some hidden agenda due to their own traumas. Sometimes we say things without thinking, or without realizing what the other person will interpret. But that doesn't change everything else we've proven to be, and if to someone IT DOES - they are being prisoners of that moment, and not taking everything all at once as one cohesive picture of what your soul is. Constantly having to prove ourselves to someone is exhausting, it minimizes our daily efforts to focus on one particular bad moment and that's not healthy for either person. It's not to say that being inconsistent in what you say and do, is ok - it's to say that some people simply just focus too much on the bad moments and quickly forget all the micro efforts we make to make them happy.

Learn to appreciate it all, and seek appreciation - as long as that appreciation is not weaponized against you.

@alexciaxa5875 unfortunately RCA Sony delayed his 2nd album release, did not send enough physical copies to stores therefore deliberately sabotaging Billboard charting, Zayn would post about he couldn't wait to tour/ doing rehearsals and doing special events for fans such as Brazilian fans...never heard updates on that...something happened almost like label jeopardised his touring plans, zayn had to pay out of his own pockets for music videos to be made [that usually covered by the label], no effective promotion, no radio play [labels pay 🤑 to have their artists on radio shows, on Spotify playlists etc], they used his vocals on other artists/ projects without his permission
Zayn had an Idea roll out for his album similar to Harry's house secret behind 🚪door opening...but with Zayn it was secret in silver suitcase storyline and throughout all his Icarus Falls music videos but unlike Harry's publicity marketing team and label Columbia Sony going above and beyond support...Zayn RCA Sony publicity marketing team were being paid for doing absolutely nothing...the Icarus Falls project got out by sheer will and force of zayn and through his own money.
No wonder he retreated to his farm and away from the industry that must've taken all his strength fighting against his own unsupportive label...it would have dented his self esteem too
