@By Your Funky Side A hundred Thank You's to you for sharing your copy of MFSB's Mysteries of the World LP, plus any of your other MFSB albums

Almost 30 years later, I can't tell you what it means to hear this song again, & to see that Philly Funk is alive & well, even though Blues, Jazz, & Funk radio died off where I live, all those years ago

I had grown just big enough to at long last reach the tuning dial on our family's bookshelf hi-fi that sat on top of Mom's upright piano, when my segregation-era father discovered his tiny little boy rockin' his body on the living room floor to the likes of Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me," & Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," as it played from Dallas' own K104-FM...

Thankfully he didn't interfere with my musical taste... I wasn't "born with a bass guitar" so-to-speak. Electric bass came a few years later. But I was 4 years old, and I've been a 70's boogie child "funkin' " his life away, ever since

You have the best of my love & thanks! So Thank You very very much, and K U D O S for bringing in our esteemable Mr Wanzel for a public YT chat ;o) ! ! !

Thanks "By Your Funky Side" for this wonderful sounding post. You know, of all the songs I wrote/produced/arranged for MFSB, this is for me the most different. I think it's an experiment in rhythmic, soft sonic synth and live string and harp combinations. Thanks

for me this album fuses classical, jazz and funk into a musical journey that you never want to end. The genius of Dexter Wansel.

A true classic, still sounds fresh and intoxicating even after all these years. Wonderful stuff. Thanks Dexter and everyone from MFSB.

Very definitive 70's disco sound, and very obviously a disco anthem / landmark moment. I've never heard of MFSB before. I just heard this track on Desert Island Discs, BBC Radio 4 programme. It was a special chosen song by Ian Wright TV football pundit and former legend of English football. He played for Arsenal and England. His edition of Desert Island Discs is probably one of the best episodes of the programme ever aired on the radio.

Bass line sent from heaven. Cheers!
