One day I heard the EP street halo very late at night, winter pure.
It was a rare experience; the neighborhood was completely silent, almost frozen (maybe an occasional car or barking dogs.).
It was very late, maybe 3 or 4 am, and at that time made me want to go outside to smoke a marijuana cigarette.
After smoking it, I started to hear the full EP (Damn, it was so cold that my hand froze more and more in each puff of cigarette.)

While listening to the EP, I felt peacefull, lonely, a little melancholy too. It was a crossing of many emotions.

I do not know, at that particular setting (completely quiet neighborhood, very cold night, those occasional eerie sounds of the night, loneliness, marijuana, cigarettes and burial) felt in a way I can not describe with words.

But it was beautiful in its own way.

I was at a party in Croy and my mate told me Burial had just showed up. Ran to the living room and he was helping the lads make a fucking _couch fort_, it was unreal. He stayed for the rest of the party, and when one couch broke he helped us bring it to the tip. We wanted him to tag the couch, but he just laughed and said no-one would ever believe us.

@adrenacrumb Id say Doctor P had a huge influence on brostep also, when Sweet Shop came out it was the big track to hear at every rave in the UK. After that everyone copied that high pitched sound. Rusko was a big influence in bringing it to the US. And yeah zed bias and El-B are originators, along with scream and benga pushing the sound further around 2002 onwards. back in the day..

haha I love how eager people are to bash Skrillex. Yes brostep and its mid-range wobbles can get tedious, but if it introduces people to new types of music and eventually leads them to arguably deeper stuff like Burial, can it really be that bad? It's not like Skrillex is a bad person, but his music and following are easy targets for people that want to flex their "music snob muscles".

There's dub and then there's dubstep in my opinion, this is dub ... hyperdub deviated from the norm before the genre even had the chance to cement itself ... Where others saw a path, Burial and Kode 9's crew created there own.
