Sweet Little Angel
B.B. King Lyrics

I love the way she spread her wings
I've got a sweet little angel baby
And I love the way she spread her wings
And when she wraps her arms around me
She bring me joy and everything
Yeah she do
I asked my baby for a nickel
And she gave me a twenty Dollar bill
I asked my baby for a nickel y'all
And she gave me a twenty Dollar bill
I asked a little girl for a drink of liquor
And she gave me a whiskey still
And if my baby would leave me oh
I believe I would die
And if my baby leave
I believe I would die
And oh, if you quit me
Please tell me the reason why
I've got a sweet little angel baby
I love the way she spreads her wings, oh yeah
I've got a sweet little angel baby
And I love the way she spreads her wings
And when she wraps her arms around me
She bring me joy and everything
Oh yeah
“Sweet Little Angel” by B.B. King is a love song, dedicated to his sweet little angel of a partner. The lyrics express the singer’s adoration for his significant other, particularly the way she “spreads her wings” and brings him joy, comfort, and hope. He goes on to say that he asked his sweet little angel for a nickel, and she gave him a $20 bill, demonstrating her selflessness and generosity. This illustrates that the singer appreciates not just his partner’s physical attributes but her character and the way she treats him.
The song is notable for the raw emotion in B.B. King’s voice. The lyrics express a deep and intense love and devotion, making it a popular choice for slow dances and wedding receptions. It was released as a single in 1956 and reached #6 on the Billboard R&B chart. It has since become a classic blues standard, with numerous covers by artists such as Etta James, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I love BB King's philosophy on playing the guitar. He does not attempt to overwhelm his audience with a ton of notes, but instead picks the melodies and licks he wants to use extremely carefully and with "soul". Through his guitar, perhaps, we were allowed to glimpse into his personality.

9californication Our job as guitarists, and as musicians in general, is to let everyone know both the joy and pain that is in our souls. Every time we play, we should be telling our story with no words, allowing all who hear to look into our hearts and to become as possessed by our music as we are

Extremely carefully? I came here to to try to change my long standing opinion that he is overrated. My opinion remains the same. He is sloppy. While he was a good singer, his guitar skills sucked.
