I've loved very little but Motown since I was 16 some 55yrs. ago, thought I knew all the hits, there was nothing new to be found. Then I played an Isley Bros. Greatest Hits CD & found this gem! It's everything Motown is meant to be: the tempo is upbeat, makes you want to get up and just DANCE! The words are meaningful and happy. The tune's catchy. The singing sublime! Just listen to the passion! Where WAS this in '66!!! I think it's knocked my previous all-time favourites off their perch!

I've only got this on a cheap budget LP and just can't understand why it never came out on 45. There are so many unreleased/LP only class Motown tracks that it's easy to see why Motown is considered by many to be the greatest label of all time. Super upload, my dear!

It's so good, Ian, that there are people that love Motown today although I'm sure they used to put aside these excellent songs for releasing as singles, people would be surprised just how busy they were in the 60's producing these brilliant sounds! Hitsville was open 22 hours a day in the 60's too. Then in 1972, Motown moved to Los Angeles, and it all changed, (not to my liking too!). Well again thx to you! This for me is like musical archeology...but sometimes I just wonder: "How come some songs haven't had success in those days?" I guess it was because of bad marketing from Motown in this case! No wonder they left in 1969 to go back with T-Neck. They were probably fed up that Gordy was giving all the attention to the Supremes, Temptations and Four Tops I guess. Anyhow, this song is one nice discovery, I have to agree! Cheers mate! :)

Yes, I have copies of all Motown's original archive lists etc from the beginning to the 80's or so, the notes are very interesting on some of the masters!! Oh! yes MFP (Music For Pleasure) did a lot of the albums cheaply years ago I remember, they were very good copies of the original tracks too, weren't they? JOHN

I'm very glad you like it, Robert, you could tell it was the Isley Brothers couldn't you? I thought they were unique singers and always liked all their songs. That's OK as why not love both, I too like Philly sounds too in fact if you look at my collection you'll see that Thom Bell has produced some of Motown's tracks, and Philadelphia International carried on in the 70's onwards from Motown in a way didn't they? The Detroit Spinners come to mind talking of Motown AND Philly sounds!! Thanks. JOHN

They were so brilliant weren't they Michael? I thought Berry Gordy had so many talented songwriters and singers that they couldn't keep up with releasing so many singles! So they were put by with a mind to release them later, the 60's period was certainly a very good time for Motown eh? Cheers, JOHN

Indeed it's that magic isn't it? I have always been a Motown man, and was a DJ as I often tell people going back to the 70's too! Even adverts on the TV have sometimes these 60's and 70' sounds borrowed, (have you noticed?) Many thanks for that. 😀 JOHN
