Need Money For Beer
Tankard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I was born in beer,
My object of lust
But got no money,
Still drink I must
I search my pockets,
And what do I find
useless Kleenex
To wipe my behind
I need a Goddamn brew,
That´s why I've come to you

You bastard, I hate you
I kill you, you can lick my butt
So pious and gracious
Intention isn't very clear
You bastard, still hate you
Need money for a fucking beer

You've got the cash, so give it to me
Dig in your wallet and set me free
Expect no thanks, you can kiss my ass
I´ll ball your girlfriend and cum with class

I need a Goddamn brew,
That´s why I've come to you

You bastard, I hate you
I kill you, you can lick my butt
So pious and gracious
Intention isn't very clear
You bastard, still hate you
Need money for a fucking beer

You bastard, I hate you
I kill you, you can lick my butt
You bastard, still hate you
Need money for a fucking beer

I was born in beer, my object of lust
But got no money,
Still drink I must
I search my pockets,
And what do I find
Useless Kleenex to wipe my behind

You bastard, I hate you
I kill you, you can lick my butt
So pious and gracious
Intention isn't very clear
You bastard, still hate you
Need money for a fucking beer

Overall Meaning

The Tankard song "Need Money For Beer" tells the story of a person who is obsessed with drinking beer but has no money to buy it. The song begins with the singer telling us that they were "born in beer" and that it is their object of lust. However, they have no money, and when they search their pockets, all they find is useless Kleenex to wipe their behinds. As a result, they approach someone who has money to ask them to buy them a beer.

However, the singer becomes hostile towards this person, calling them a bastard and telling them that they hate them. Despite this, they continue to beg for money for beer, telling the person to "dig in your wallet and set me free." The singer ends the song by repeating the chorus and telling the listener that they need money for a fucking beer.

AleK

There is metal about beer my life is now complete and I love this.

NiggeliNG

You can't know metal that well if this is the first time you hear a beer themed metal song...

AleK

NiggeliNG I never said I know a lot about it. I just like it because it sounds great and it's not shit like the mainstream crap you hear from corporations that make it to make money.

***** Welcome to thrash my friend

Ibleedwhiskey Planet1

I love my beer, but my love is whiskey. Doesn't matter, we're still brothers in metal and alcohol. Where I live liquor stores are tightly controlled, but it's no problem, they can sell beer for 4 more hours after they cut off liquor sells. Too late for liquor, grab yourself a case of beer, nobody really loses. As long as I can get my "Steel Reserve 211" I'm fine with it.

***** Had to second what David Grego said, welcome to an excellent form of music, please feel free to delve into many other bands. I welcome all who see what a great form of music this is.

With all well known metal such as pantera, slayer, metallica, megadeth, motorhead, judas priest ect... there are still millions of underground metal gems such as tankard that still needs more love and attention from metalheads today.
