The First Noel, the Angels did say
The initial news of Jesus' birth was announced by the Angels

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
It was revealed to humble shepherds who were resting in the fields

In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
The shepherds were tending to their sheep in those fields

On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
It happened on a bitterly cold and dark winter's night

A joyful celebration, proclaiming the birth of Jesus

Born is the King of Israel!
The King of Israel, Jesus, has been born!

They looked up and saw a star
The shepherds looked up and saw a shining star

Shining in the East beyond them far
The star was radiant in the eastern sky, far away from their location

And to the earth it gave great light
The star illuminated the earth brightly

And so it continued both day and night.
The star's light remained constant, shining both day and night

And by the light of that same star
Guided by the star's light

Three Wise men came from country far
Three Wise men traveled a long distance from another country

To seek for a King was their intent
Their purpose was to find and worship the newborn King

And to follow the star wherever it went.
They followed the star's path wherever it led them

This star drew nigh to the northwest
The star approached the northwest direction

O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
The star came to rest directly above Bethlehem

And there it did both Pause and stay
The star paused and remained still in that position

Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
Directly above the location where Baby Jesus was lying

Then entered in those Wise men three
The three Wise men then entered

Full reverently upon their knee
They respectfully knelt down

And offered there in His presence
In the presence of Jesus, they presented

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Their gifts of gold, myrrh, and frankincense

Then let us all with one accord
Therefore, let us all together

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
Sing joyful praises to our divine Lord

That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
Who has created the entire cosmos out of nothing

And with his blood mankind has bought.
And through his sacrificial blood, he has redeemed humanity
