Glass
¿ìÀÖ·ÖÁÑ(Joy Division) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Anytime - pressurised
Overheat - overtired
Take it quick - take it neat
Clasp your hands - touch your feet
Take it quick - take it neat --
Hearts fail - young hearts fail
On the run - underground
Put your hand where it's safe
Leave your hand where it's safe
Do it again
Do it again and again and again --
Anytime - that's your right
Told ya we should do it again
Overheat - overtired
Don't you wish to do it again --
Anytime - that's all right
Don't you wish to do it again --
I bet you wish you do it again
Do it again --
In the genetic demo version the previous verse is replaced by:
Anytime - that's your right
Bet you wish you'd done it again
Anytime - that's your right
Turn around and do it again --
Do it again - do it again
Do it again and again and again --
The lyrics to Joy Division's song "Glass" seem to be centered around the idea of youthful recklessness and the desire to experience things quickly and without caution. The first verse speaks to the physical toll that this can take on a person, with "hearts fail" and the body becoming "overheat - overtired" under the pressure of constantly pushing forward. Despite this, the refrain "take it quick - take it neat" reinforces the idea of wanting to move swiftly and efficiently through life.
The second verse takes on a more emotional tone, with the singer wanting to hold onto something safe while also feeling the need to escape into something new and exciting. There is a sense of restlessness, with the idea of being "on the run - underground," but also the desire to find a place where one's hand can be kept safe. Despite this, the refrain continues to urge the listener to keep going and do it all again.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of urgency and a drive to keep moving forward, but also a recognition of the toll that this can take on a person. The repetition of the refrain emphasizes the desire to keep going, even when it may not necessarily be healthy or safe.

Super helpful. Saved me tons of $ and time. I would wear a face shield (+ safety goggles), though, when removing the old hardened glazing. You may have metal glazing points hidden underneath.

Another interesting n informative video. Found your explanations easy to follow n your optional choices of applying the glazing compound very handy.
Look forward to more of your videos. Thanks !

Great video, Ron! Instead of using glazing, can I use caulking or Flex Seal? Also, I notice you use DAP glazing. I've read a lot of
negative reviews on this particular brand, and was wondering if you've ever had a problem with it.

Use dap correctly and you’ll be fine. Don’t use flex seal or caulk, glaze is better

Great video! Do I need to apply anything to the inside of the window pane? What keeps it from falling through? Sorry, I’ve never done anything like this before.
